The first one I received has a malfunctioning battery compartment. They sent an exchange immediately and it was built correctly. The lights are bright and beautiful and continue to flicker while turned on. It runs on 3 AA batteries.If you have a 6 foot tree or smaller, you can easily turn the star off an on. We have an 8ft tree and the only way we can reach the battery pack is with a ladder. This is not practical. We let it run overnight the first night and the lights dimmed drastically by morning. So we turned it off and probably will not turn it on again until Christmas Eve. Fast shipping - star is sturdy and sits securely on top of the tree. Lights are quite bright, but not garish - however, the flashing...OMG the flashing. If you are looking for whimsical twinkling (which is what I was hoping for), this is not it. The flashing is sporadic and manic and I wish it came with a way to control the speed or turn it to steady shine (no flashing). Just hoping nobody has a seizure while opening presents.

I love the star I love the way the color's move on the star AND THE ONE THANG I DID NOT LIKE THE BOX THE STAR CAME IN BC THE BOX WAS DAMAGED LUCKY THE FINE BUT THE BOX LOOKED LIKE ITS WAS STEP ON BC THERE WAS HOLE IN THE BOX AND THE BOX WAS DAMAGED I CANT BELIEVE THE WAS FINE

First of all read that it takes batteries! Unless your tall and can reach top of your tree easily to turn on every day this is not for you! I have an 8’ tree and its such a hassle to drag a chair or step ladder to tree every day to turn on the star. The star is pretty but also eats through the batteries quickly, you can tell when it starts to do that because the star will only light up red. Or atleast that’s what ours did! I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and I returned it and got refund

I bought this star for my mom's christmas tree and didn't realize it was ran with batteries and a separate switch to turn it off. Her batteries (not the best brand) lasted for 2 days and had to be changed. Luckily i was there so she didnt have to climb to change them. Also, the on off switch is a pain because you can unplug the tree but the star stays on unless you climb up to turn it off. Would not recommend this if you are putting it on a tall tree or have to climb to turn it on and off and change the batteries.

For the money it's nice. A little heavy for a topper on a 7ft tree, also note once the batteries start running low so does the multiple colors then fades. Didn't expect that.

Larger than expected and very bright! Battery did die very quickly though

Goes thru batteries pretty quick. Widd sad habit plugged in.
