Perfect Fit. Fixed My GE Stackabke Washer/Dryer.
I did the laundry mat routine for years, and couldn't wait until I finally could afford a washer and dryer. When that day finally came years back, I realized after a while that having these is a basic necessity, and being without now that I'm used to them would be like going without air, at least for me. Last week my GE washer lid starting making a lot of click noises, but was still working fine. Then, the Grim Reaper from that commercial showed up and killed my washing machine. It would still run, but when it got a cycle that required the lid to lock, it would click/knock 5 x and stop running. My washing machine nightmare was coming true, and the thought of having to go back to the laundry mat was giving me anxiety, and I immediately started my massive Google search for GE repair manuals, symptoms of a broken washing machine, and anything I could find that would help me fix my machine. About 24 hours of Google searching broken machines and their symptoms, I finally found someone who had the same problem and the same model, and his link had that (solved) text over his initial question. During the night, when I was getting desperate, I sent a message to the online Maytag man who guaranteed he could give me the solution to my problem, but he insisted on having a valid credit card before he would even say boo after my initial question. I sent him into oblivion with one click of the mouse. The guy with the same problem, who had the (solved) over his link, was my guy, and I hoped for the best. He was sent to me from heaven. Not only did he have the same problem, with the same model, but he included pics of the part, how to remove it, and the part number so I could easily order it. I would have taken him for a drink if I knew who he was, all I knew was that he was Farmer401 from Dubuque, Iowa, and he fixed all his own appliances. He's about 1500 miles from me, so no taking him out to celebrate anytime soon. In any event, it was my lid lock that was broken. I ordered the part, and anxiously waited two days for it's arrival. I took the old part out while I was waiting, and picked out all the little broken parts inside my washer, that I had no clue where they came from, and hoped that I wasn't gonna need another part. The part arrived two days later, as promised by Amazon, and it took all of two minutes to push in the plug with all the wires, and screw it on with the two old screws. I put the front of the machine back on, threw a few things in, and cranked her up. It filled, went through it's thing to auto adjust the water level, did a few revolutions of washing, and, wait for it, was about to go to the lock and spin cycle (I know every second of my machines procedures to wash clothes, and I knew the moment of truth was only a few seconds away), and, YEAH!!, the lid did the normal 1x click/knock, locked the lid, and continued with it's duties. Machine fixed, my work here is done. This General Electric WH44X10288 Washing Machine Lid Lock was an exact match of the one I removed (other than a huge chunk that was missing from the bottom of mine, which happened to be one of the unknown pieces I collected while waiting for the new part. It fit perfectly, and couldn't have installed any easier. I never knew a washing machine part could give me such joy. I paid about $43 bucks and change for the part, which was almost $20 bucks cheaper than the same part on the official, over charging, GE appliance website. I see now why they are one of the largest corp's in the world. I'm sure there are millions of broken GE lid latches around the world, and they are charging all that order a new lid latch a $20 premium for the part to fix it, making them billions of dollars a year. Me and Farmer401 would be hitting the town tonight if he wasn't half a country away from New Mexico. Thank you Farmer401 for your help. I hope things in Dubuque start getting a little livelier for you. Stop spending so many nights with dairy cows and head into town once in a while. Thanks again for sending me here to buy the part I needed. This part was worth every penny, and saved me from the dreaded trip to my local laundry mat.

Fixed knocking Kenmore washer!
Perfect match, oem part, shipped quickly, fixed my problem. A+I will say that i wasn't entirely sure what it was, just that my old one was broken and needed replacing. For anyone that doesn't know, this is the lid lock that is supposed to engage when the spin cycle begins. With my broken one, when it was spin time, the washer would make four or five loud knocking sounds then do nothing. The knocking was the switch trying to engage, but failing due to broken plastic. My washer had a step following replacing this part where i had to put it into service mode before it would reset and allow me to use it, the steps to get it into service mode were in the service manual (taped under the electrical panel in my washer). Hope this helps somebody.
