30 x 9 Chimney Balloon effective chimney draught excluder

I'm helping an elderly neighbour with energy saving measures, which this item is one important part of. I have one if these installed in a disused fireplace in my own home, so I'm already a convert.Suffice to say, my neighbour is delighted with it, if only because it meant she could have a vase into the middle of the hearth without fear of it getting covered in soot and other junk that occasionally fell down into her home. Of course, the real reason I encouraged her to get this was to save energy — removing down drafts/stopping great escaping up the open flue — but I think she'll also benefit from a slight noise reduction, too.

Good item but you need a small pump to inflate which I luckily had. You can do it by mouth but not sure how practical that is with your head pretty much in the chimney!!! Lasted 2 months before the seam at one end undone itself and started leaking air - I tried to patch it up with some tape but made no difference. Hope you get more longevity out of it!

Not a lot of good they don't fit to chimney too rigid once blown up

Sorry to say this baloon is quite useless... had it for over a year and have needed to frequently top up the air. Lately it wont even hold air for more than 2 days... quite rubbish during winter storms of late! Will need to find a different solution now

The chimney ballon came with simple instructions that were easily followed, and the ballon took seconds to install. Great product.

Depending on your chimney diameter this will fit as shown in the instructions.I needed it to prevent drafts while I repair a log burner with a 6 inch flue .It does function with only half of the 'balloon' up the chimney.

This really works. it cuts down the cold air coming down the chimney saving a lot of heat escaping

Balloon has decided to die after about 3 months....
