Best Designed Spatula EVER
Norpro makes my 2 favorite kitchen utensils ever. This is one of them.Whoever put their brain to work on this design really hit a homerun. The handle... ok, it does the job. But the Neck and head are the important part. No other spatuala does what they do quite so effectively. The neck of the spatula has, what I'll call, an "S" cuve, which allows you to get the head of the spatula level with the bottom of the pan without bumping your hand or the handle of the spatula against the side of a hot pan.The head is nice and wide, which has 2 advantages. You can pick up larger portions, ie. eggs, fish, chicken, burgers, etc, and they are well supported for turning. This means that you can more easily put them where you want them AND they have less of a chance of breaking apart. The other advantage of the wide head is that it works very well as a utensil for breaking food down in the pan. I will use both the tip of the head, as well as flipping it sideways for chopping (more like an axe motion) to break apart ground beef for a meat sauce or scrambling eggs, for instance.I love my Norpro Jumbo Slotted Spatula!

The right size for larger "Country bread" sandwiches
As noted in the title, I often make grilled sandwiches with the larger "country style" breads, and regular-width turners don't always support the size and weight. Not so with this... they get completely under the larger bread sizes and turn without letting the sandwich open and fall apart. They're also great for eggs and omelettes for the same reason. I have also used them to cut and serve lasagna from the pan. And of course they leave no marks or scratches on non-stick cookware and bakeware. I got about three good years from the first one and currently on my second. I recently ordered two more so that the next one is ready to go.

Good spatula, issues with handle
We've only used our Norpro 1705 for a short while, so our opinion may change. It was good for flipping burgers on an outdoor gas grill, and for stirring fried onions. We don't leave our tools in contact with the heat when not actively using them, and we rarely do any high-heat frying, so we haven't seen any heat damage. Main problem was that the compound handle takes in water in the dishwasher, and then dribbles it out when you use it. It may be that repositioning will help. I'd recommend flicking/shaking it a couple of times, spatula end down, when you first take it out of the washer.

The Wide, Inexpensive Spatula You've Been Seeking
An inexpensive, WIDE spatula that can be hard to find in this width. I wanted something not too expensive with a good grip/length that was wide. This fits the bill perfectly. So far this is holding up well for me. Even if the handle broke at this point, I'd buy the same one again and from this same supplier. Very happy.

Weak spot on handle broke after 2 months
Looks nice and has a great wide shape that's unique compared to most spatulas. Loved it for 2 months until it broke. The handle has a weak spot where the handle meets the stem. It narrows down to about half the size to insert and connect into the handle. I'll admit that I tend to flex my spatulas a bit, perhaps more than most, but it would have been fine if not for the poor design right where it meets the handle. This is the only spatula I've ever broken in this way. USPS also broke the first one in transit, so this was a replacement. The fact that the first one broke in transit further supports my theory that it wasn't my fault that it broke while I was using it. Unfortunately it's too late to return it.

Spatula City! Spatula City! Spatula City! Spatula City!
I had an old spatula that looked like this one and when it was starting to melt/wear down I went on the hunt for something similar. Took a while, but I found it with this one. This spatula is great for making taco's. It has a slightly curved tip so that it will work will in a stir fry pan. It is also firm, so it is easy to chop of the ground beef/chicken/whatever when making tacos. It is also good for everything else.... but I was looking for my go to taco spatula. And this is a good one.

Disappointed
Love the wideness of this one and while I prefer a flat-edged spatula, I could tell in the photo that it wasn't but I ordered it anyway. Unfortunately, the curve is more severe than it appears in the picture. I'll keep it, but I wouldn't order it again.

nice quality kitchenware
nice quality kitchenware... the spatula is wide. 4 3/4 inch wide and about 3 1/2 inches deep. I usually cook too eggs length wise to cover two pieces of bread layed out to make a sandwich with a double layer of egg. this spatula works great for flipping my wide concoction of eggs. Easy to clean and heat resistant too. I have the entire set of 1700 series of Norpro cookware.
