I cannot knit or crochet with needles due to a fine motor disability. I was quite pleased to easily learn to knit using this loom. be sure not to try to knit any yarn larger than Gauge 4 (Medium/Worsted/Aran/Afghan) as the pegs are spaced for lighter weight yarns. It is best suited for 2-4 gauge yarn. (1 gauge, if sturdy). I wanted to learn how to knit things for my ball jointed dolls. This makes great doll wraps/scarves for 1/3 (around 2 feet tall/ 60 cm) and likely 1/4 scale (around 16-18 inches) dolls, as seen in my picture. I used 4 Gauge yarn.

I had use it one of these over 40 years ago and was excited to order. It is very sturdy, the metal pins are a plus over plastic pegs. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to use. There are too many pegs for such a small board. It is extremely difficult to maneuver and take bottom loop over too. There is no tie-off on ends for placement security. It is sturdy, quality pins, possibly a great “learner” board for kids. It’s too small for adult hands. I suggest you read the dimensions and then evaluate your needs. I am giving mine to grandkids and have ordered 2 larger looms that better suit my needs.

I read the reviews. I saw that it was small. But, I have tiny hands and thought it would be ok. It is soooo SMALL! It requires a level of dexterity I do not have to make this work easily. I did make a scarf, it turned out just as I had hoped, but it was sooo hard to do. I could have crocheted it in an hour and this tool took HOURS! I'm not sure who this was made for, but children probably do not have the patience, and the rest of us have giant hands...
