Could not check this Wadsworth 40 amp breaker out since it was already broken, thus non functional ! This item should never have been offered for sale again. I ordered it from Amazon Warehouse.

I ordered this to replace the faulty 14-year-old breaker feeding the air conditioner compressor. Narrowing the problem down to the breaker took longer than you would think. After visits over a couple years by various AC repairmen who took their readings and did minor procedures (washing the compressor fins, adding a tiny smidgen of Freon, etc) the only remaining possible explanation for the problem (breaker warming up and popping, especially on hot days) was that the breaker itself was faulty.The new one came right away and was an exact fit for my vintage Wadsworth service panel. The AC worked flawlessly through the rest of the season. I expect that the breaker, at least, will outlast me.

Exactly what I needed for an old Wadsworth power panel. Installed for a new Pool heat pump install and works perfectly.

This is the second of these circuit breakers I purchased. The first one simply failed after six months. Unless there is an overwhelming need to spend the absurd amount of money for this device a far better choice would be to simply replace the outdated breaker box with a state of the art one, hence being able to use a 2pole 40amp breaker that costs about 10% of this unreliable Connecticut Electric junk.
