Solid light light for just under 30
I've been using this at work around the house in the garage and the occasional perimeter checks in the yard. Iv drop tested water tested and light torture tested... I'm impressed I like the light I have many others and some very similar... I personally don't think that throws very far but it makes up for it in a pretty well balanced beam. it's far more useful up close you don't have a super intense hotspot while you're trying to look at something in your engine bay or sitting right next to you on the work bench. I feel it's well rounded light it fits the tactical light category. But in my opinion would not make a great weapon mounted light doesn't mean you can't though. All in all your getting a good well rounded very sturdy light for the price you pay... There are many options in it's class and price range. I'd place it in the upper tier of it's class.

Does NOT take standard 18650 batteries
I bought this flashlight because I have an abundance of 18650 rechargeable batteries, with a power charger. I bought this thinking I could use my standard batteries in it. As a warning, it does NOT. It is a proprietary battery, with a longer length than a standard 18650, so if you are wanting to use that type of battery, get a different one. Battery life is good, durability is low (dropped it a couple of times from about 3 ft, as I am a mechanic, and now it will regularly change from full light, to SOS mode randomly while using it). All in all, if you aren't going to use additional 18650 batteries to supply power, and if you will never drop it, then this is a perfect flashlight for you. Everything else about the flashlight is wonderful, but the lack of durability (especially when being listed in the top of a search, where my search term was "rugged rechargable flashlight") and the misnomer of taking a standard 18650 battery, put it to rest at least for myself. It depends on your needs... If one of your two highest priorities, is durability or acceptance of additional batteries, then this would not fit your needs.

Good budget flashlight for everyday use, light flicker sometimes
Wowtac A1S is a great budget everyday carry light. One light I have that is very similar to this light is Sofirn SP31V2. Wiowtac A1S is a little longer and has a slightly thicker tubing than Sofirn SP31V2. Wowtac A1S comes with a 3400mAh 186500 that has a microUSB port so you can directly charge the battery with a microUSB cable and not a separate charger.Wowtac A1S uses 2-button switches to operate the light. Tail cap switch to turn the light on/off and side switch to change between light settings and different modes. I like 2-button switches which makes easier to operate the light compare to the 1-button switch. One thing I don't like is Wowtac A1S has SOS mode in light intensity rotation. I like SOS to group with strobe so it is less confusing when switching between light intensities. Contrary website description, A1S does not have a fire fly setting which I think is very useful when too much light is not needed in airplane or reading in the dark.I have been carrying Wowtac A1S almost everyday for a whole month. Maximum 1150 lumen output is enough for most situations. I had a flat tire while driving at night not too long ago. I used the A1S to light up the back of the car and helped the road side assistant technician to replace the tire. During that time the flashlight became hot after a few minutes of running on turbo/high but you can still hold it with a bare hand. I also use it to walk the car daily after work since our commercial parking lot does not have light at night. One thing I noticed is after running the flashlight on high for a while the light will flicker when I changed it to a lower setting. It did not happen all the time. But I will have to double check to see if there is a week connection. Overall Wowtac A1S is a great compact flashlight for everyday use.

BUT ONE, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Just arrived, fast delivery (2 days) Seems to be very well built, great looking, all modes function flawlessly. I can't say as to battery life, as I have only run through the different modes a couple of times. All settings put out nice degree of light, with the higher modes throwing some serious light, plus an SOS mode and a strobe that should put any would be attacker at your mercy. It includes a removable pocket clip, spare O rings, and a charging cable for the rechargeable Li-ion batteries. I like the very cool way that the cable plugs into the battery itself, not into the flashlight, which should help with waterproofing. I am very happy with this purchase and thrilled with the price. I highly recommend this flashlight. Buy one, you won't regret it!

Awesome, Bright, Dependable, Light, Rugged!
This is an excellent flashlight! Shipping was handled speedily and the packaging and presentation is an A+ for me. The batter came almost dead but that's good, because it lasted about 3 hours on turbo that night. After draining the battery all the way, it took an overnight charge and then i used is constantly the next day on and off. I dropped it and the hard anodization did not even scratch or dent. The flashlight was used in a flooded basement while moving home items out of flood water and dropped several times into 8" deep water and never skipped a beat. I also used the light on the handlebars of my bicycle for an evening ride ob sone local trails, using the same charge and battery. The light became dimmer but hardly noticable after staying on high for over 2 hours. The light is also compact and light enough to carry along side my benchmade 550-1 griptillian, phone, wallet, and car keys. This is truly one of the best bang-for-your-buck flashlight. Also i found that with a 4.2v maximum limit for the light, a 4.0v 5500mah 18650 battery(samsung computer battery) could push the light to about 50% brighter than the stock battery but the lamp gets really hot so be careful and don't burn yours up! In short this light is bad a$$ for >$.
