Easily cooks "deep fry" without the oil, and more than a "deep fryer" replacement!! Easy and fast!
First: I read the negative review regarding the difficulty of removing the basket. Regarding this, I did the same thing (I read directions second) not realizing that if you just pull out the basket from the unit, it takes the heavy "drip tray", insulated cooking section with it. You need to release the lightweight basket from the drip tray compartment by pushing the release button on the handle. Easy peasy and light. Once you've shaken, click it back into the compartment and put back into the Brio. After months of seeing recipes, hearing friends rave about air fryers, I FINALLY decided to splurge! I'm kinda a kitchen "gadget nerd", anything to help me cook better, faster, easier. (Honestly, I'm in my 50's and have probably cooked less than 20 dishes in a regular oven in my entire life! Have been using pressure cookers, slow cookers for more than 30 years, have a low-pressure oven, etc.) The Nuwave Brio attracted me because it has a better, more consistant temperature monitor than most, and it's been specializing in cooking appliances for more than 30 years. I chose the 6 qt because i wanted one large enough to cook an entire small chicken (I only cook for myself and my son), healthier meals. I've also missed OCCASSIONALLY (not part of my daily or regular diet, but something I enjoy) eating deep fried foods such as deep fried mozzarella sticks, fries, fish, mushrooms because in the last few years, those foods don't agree with my digestive system at all. As soon as I got this yesterday, I had a "fried food fiesta", and even cooked pork chops and homemade potato chips which my son gave a high score. Everything turned out great without ANY oil!! VERY easy to clean the unit. However, the unit does heat up, I highly recommend (as does the user manual) to use on your stovetop with the exhaust fan turned on. Very easy to clean, adjust time/temp and has a preheating mode, which is useful to get the unit to the proper temp before starting to cook. Very even cooking, crispy results when needed, even without ANY oil. Can also bake, roast, dehydrate. Large cooking area. Large enough to cook for more than a single person, single servings, etc. Cons: Pretty large, 12" cube, but very nice looking if you have the space to keep on counter, not difficult to store otherwise. Size needed to cook for more than 1 person. The different wattage settings aren't really clearly covered or why they're needed, how to adjust cooking times/temps for different wattages. I've tried all 3. The 1800 and 1500 watt settings performed the best, however, I have a 30 year old condo, and those settings left the cord hot to the touch when I went to unplug. The 900 watt setting didn't perform as well. The recipe book only includes 36 recipes. Other units come with recipe books with 80+ recipes. I would rather have a stackable rack to allow for larger batch cooking than a basket divider. It doesn't have a "halfway" alarm to remind you to shake/flip as most units require.

Good quality
I am pleased that the food doesn't need oil to cook and it is convenient and easy to clean. The only drawback is that the logo printed on the front of the unit is starting to wear off. This should not be happening so soon I've only used the fryer about 6 times and I baby it when cleaning. I've had other appliances with the logo imprinted and it has taker over 5 years before they started fading or getting erased

Why did we wait so long?
Nothing but 5 stars for this small kitchen appliance! We've looked at these and himhawed over buy one for a long time now. Would we use it? Where would we put it when we weren't using it? What would you actually cook with it because we rarely eat fried foods? After having several friends and neighbors tell us how much they like theirs (and one can barely boil water!) we took the leap and bought this one. We had done our homework and knew the size and features we wanted/ needed and this one checked all those boxes. No worries on where to put it when not in use as it's sleek style and compact design compliment my kitchen nicely. Now for the important part. We've only made chicken wings and hand cut French fries so far but they were as good as everyone said they were. Done just right following recipe directions. Don't wait forever like we did! Do yourself and the family the favor and get this. Edited 2 weeks later; We have become quite adventurous in the kitchen in the past 10-14 days! We've made had cut chicken nuggets & fish fingers along with fried shrimp and sea scallops. All lightly breaded in Wondra flour with most of it knocked off. I mean very lightly breaded. Excellent! Also store bought onion rings and butternut squash chunks. Tasted exactly like they were roasted in the oven in 1/3 of the time and none of the greasy clean up! The possibilities are endless! If you can dream it this appliance will cook it better, faster and healthier. If you don't know how to cook something just Google it. Someone else has tried and perfected it. Your answer is merely a question away.

Great product, great customer service
I have this air fryer for almost two years now, using it about 3 times a week. It works flawlessly. After 20 months, the handle started coming loose from the basket. I registered the device to Nuwave’s website that extended the warranty to 24 months. I filed a claim and witho g 5 business days or so I received a new handle/basket assembly. This is the greatest customer service I’ve ever experienced for a product out of its original 1 year warranty! As for the air fryer, it’s great. I like the stainless steel mesh at the bottom. My precious air fryer (died within 14 months) had a coated basket bottom that started peeling. This Nuwave has a stainless steel mesh that is removable for easy cleaning! Also, no peeling on the coating of the basket walls. Great build quality!!!

Works Great, Good Value.
Our old Nuwave air fryer died because of a short in our wiring, not the units fault. We decided to get a new one and went with the 6-quart. I like this one because of the larger, dividable basket. With the divider we can now prepare twice as much food as before in half the time. The controls are easy to use and so far the results are as good or better than my old air fryer. We have had this since Saturday and it's now Monday. We have prepared quesadillas, french fries, popcorn shrimp and clams, pretzel hotdogs and this morning I tried the bacon and egg on toast. It came out great and saved the normal cleanup required for cooking eggs and bacon. No problems so far and we are looking to more experimentation with different recipes.
