Since returning my other badge holders, I’ve been using this badge holder daily for several weeks now, and I couldn’t be more impressed. So much so, I gave the other badge holder to my paramedic partner. The durability is outstanding, it holds up to constant use without any issues like, binding, or losing its spring. The thickness is perfect, sturdy enough to protect my ID, but not bulky or heavy and still allows the rf to be read. Whether I’m clipping it to my shirt or keeping it in my bag, it stays secure and looks professional. I love that it’s easy to slide cards in and out without them falling out unexpectedly. For something I rely on every day, this has truly proven to be a smart purchase. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a reliable badge holder, definitely a great value for money!

This is my second pair of holder. They work great, but if you get them stuck on something, they can easily break. I had a similar issue with the cord getting stuck, and I couldn’t figure out how to get it unstuck.

Very sturdy !

EXTREMELY high quality and durable. I bought two, and threw one under the car tire to run over a couple times. Just a bit of scuffing and a small dent, but the clip for the belt didn't even seriously deform. I'm ninety percent sure that if I was caught in a disaster, this key clip would be the last part of me to be destroyed. The loopy clip is also metal, and durable-feeling though I haven't stress-tested it. Overall, a great improvement over my last 'heavy duty' plastic one.

I bought this two pack over two years ago. I have been using one with my work ID card every day since. I wear it connected to a belt loop with the included carabiner ring. It is perfect - long enough to easily reach the swipe pads for doors from my belt loop, strong enough to always retract completely, and durable enough to still be 100% like new after two years. Unfortunately, I lost the first one, along with my ID, yesterday. Amazingly, I have an entire second set to use with my new ID - reel, carabiner, and even card holder. I am pretty convinced that, if you don't lose them, you could make this pair of two last a lifetime. I never really thought about how good this reel is until I lost one because it operates so well that you just don't think about it. There is no downside to these that I can identify for the way I use them. They are well designed, they work perfectly, they are durable, and there are two of them. When I someday lose the second one, I will absolutely reorder the exact same product (unless I have found the first one that I lost by then). Taking all of these factors into account, this package is a great value. It would still be a good value at twice the current price. This is one of those rare cases when something has exceeded my expectations. And, again, this review was written after two years of using one.

When they said Heavy Duty, they MEANT it! This will handle a 5lbs badge. Or a brick. The torque is enough to pull the clip off your shirt when you go to swipe it. The industrial nature of this winder also means it has significant mass itself, so be prepared for it to stretch your clothes out, unless you're wearing it on a leather belt. The clip also seems to have extra pinch to it to help hold on when the winder is used, and thus is extra hard to get ones collar through. Honestly, I'd have liked it with a little LESS torque, maybe a few more inches of reach, and a bit less pinch in the clip and also less mass. I do like the reinforced badge strap though, which seems like it should last significantly longer than non-reinforced straps, and has enough length to pass three (or more) badges, plus a dosimeter clip through, and still have room for more. The leash itself, although thicker than most, is probably the weakest link in this item, and again, a little shorter than I'd like it to be.
