Loved the journey
Absolutely sexy and action packed. The story never stops it keeps going and going keeping you ready for more. I didn't want it to stop and when I did I found myself purchasing another Red Sonja graphic novel. This one by far is one of the best and most sexy of the Red Sonja stories. The bad guy , or rather gal, was depraved, psychotic, vindictive and heartless, but what a bad gal she made and when they confronted each other you wanted more. The like and hatred of the characters was refreshing and definitely went somewhere I wasn't expecting. If you are a Red Sonja fan you want this book.

That had to be COLD
OK, so we all know Red Sonja has good reasons for wearing a chainmail bikini into battle. But even she can hardly excuse wearing little more than that on a foray in the Arctic north of her barbarian homeland. I mean, the exposed flesh (which accounts for most of her) would be frost-bitten in moments, and the bits under the chainmail -- damn, that metal must be cold.Fine. So we gamely remind ourselves that all the rational explanations in the world can't actually tell us why Sonja wears that outfit. The truth, we all know, is because her readers are largely male, and warrior women wearing chainmail bikinis are hot. That matter aside, the story by Frank Cho and Doug Murray is another episode of rollicking, swashbuckling fun as Sonja, after leading a small band of warriors against a pack of northern barbarians, falls captive to a community of yeti and neanderthals led by a primal heart-eating sorceress queen. And really, it's better than it sounds. I mean, if nothing else, you have a bikini-clad swordswoman duking it out with large, hairy men, and their queen wears even less -- yes, it is possible -- than Sonja.by Tom Knapp, Rambles.(net) editor

Quaint Story But Not That Deep
Red Sonja is a terror! She is definately not an enemy I'd want to face in battle, let me tell you that! Savage, courageous, beautiful, deadly and truculent, this lady is not a woman to mess with. Never underestimate a woman with a weapon--ever! I say that because her adversaries in the beginning of the story do just that and regret it in the end as she eviscerates and decapitates the hapless fools.Sonja travels to the arctic north to battle barbarians but is somehow captured by neanderthals who are in thrall to a savage sorceress who has enslaved many males over the centuries; the witch forces the captives to toil deep in the underworld. Sonja discovers the woman's nefarious plans and in an attempt to free them from bondage, battles neanderthals, yetis and even other humans before finally besting them all and managing to escape. This inadvertantly brings about the downfall of the evil sorceress!I liked the basic storyline, yet I wanted to know more. Like why was Red Sonja in the arctic north to begin with? How was it that the enslaved males never died out and/or did not revolt on their own? Was it because their spirit had been broken over the decades or was it some sort of an enchantment brought about by the sorceress? These are questions that should have been answered and explained in the text. Nevertheless, I did enjoy seeing the yeti as an adversary. This beast is seldom used in fantasy, and I was glad to see it reintroduced into the red Sonja/Conan canon. This story is out of print from Barnes & Noble, so the only way for you to get it will be to buy it online from Amazon or Ebay. Should you buy it you won't be disappointed, I will tell you that. A. Nathaniel Wallace, Jr.

Savage Red Sonja: Queen of the Frozen Wastes
What I liked about the product was the fast delivery. I also liked the fact that amazon.com let me cancel an order at no cost to me. I originally ordered another version of the Red Sonja story and I could cancel that before they shipped it. There was one problem, the book wasn't bound very well and I had to glue it into place when I got it, but that wasn't a huge problem for me.

Memo to Hollywood: This is a strong female lead done right.
I am new to the character Red Sonja but not to the world of Howard that Conan shares with the she-devil. I really enjoyed this. Going in I thought she would just be a switch in for Conan however I discovered there is a lot more to Sonja's character. She is not edgy, she is not snarky but she is a badass who has been there and done whatever she has needed to survive.I look forward to reading more stories on Sonja as I wait for newer Conan collections from Marvel to come out

Drawings not from Frank Cho
The story is OK but I really looked forward to his art (which apart from three drawings - cover included) only to be disappointed. The art in the book isn't bad, it just isn't what I hoped for.
