Works pretty good
It works great, more than I thought actually. The wire is about as thin as a bass string or formal shoe laces, and pretty flexible. It's bright! Obviously it's not bright in direct light, but even in dimmed lights, it looks great! The light is even throughout the wire too. Now, there's is one problem: The hissing noise. It makes a hissing noise when it's on, and the noise strobes when the light strobes. It's a little louder than the hissing noise when you turn on the flash on a throw-away camera, but I'm going to use them to wrap around the frame of a drum set for a night gig we're doing, so I'm not too worried about noise. If you're using it in a quiet environment, I'd suggest putting the battery case in a small padded box with a hole for the wire so it's not too loud. I'm pretty happy with it, and I'd buy another one. I do hear that they don't last too long (maybe 2 months), so take good care of it and don't bend the base of the wire that connects to the battery compartment, nor bend the wire to sharply.

A nice custom lighting option.
The media could not be loaded. These present some interesting options for custom lighting as these use only a couple of AA batteries. With a little rework on the battery box, and a MOSFET, these can be utilized in the same manner you might use an LED, such as an audio "Peak detector" by applying a signal to the MOSFET to gate/trigger the power to the assembly. In the video, the audio track was terrible so I used subtitles instead. Due to a quirk of the camera video speed, the flashing wires are flashing at about twice the speed of real life (I used a "CamPark" action cam for this video. As that camera does otherwise have decent lower/low light performance.). The 2 greens are the Lychee EL Wire assemblies. (The purple EL wire is from another Amazon vendor.).

Lights up well, looks cool, but skeptical about longevity.
I used these lights for my bike tires. They work well (so far). They aren't very convenient for attaching to bike tire spokes, but if you get creative, you'll find a way.One day, as I was riding, the clip on the battery pack broke and the whole thing flew off of my tire and across the rode, exploding into several pieces. I quickly scrambled to pick up the pieces and when I got home I reattached it to my bike. Works again!I'm not so confident in the how long these lights will last, it's only been a month, but so far they're holding up just fine. I'll be sure to update this if anything changes.

The green is great for visibility at night on a bicycle
I purchased the "Lime Green Neon" one for visibility on a bicycle, and it is great. The only other color I bought was orange, and the orange was too dim.I wove the green one into one of those reflective joggers vests and hung the battery pack from the vest. I've used it a lot and the batteries last a long time. I sort of expected the electronics would burn out eventually, but this thing is still going strong. One thing that might be annoying for some people or circumstances is the high-pitched whine that comes from the battery pack. It's not a problem on a bike, because usually the wind drowns it out, but it's worth considering if you are planning on using these in a quiet setting or if you will use multiple lights hung on your body.

Vibrant Green! Long Lasting Battery!
Love these neon El Wires, I've been buying multiple different colors and brands for a few years now! This particular brand really doesn't stand out much, their all pretty much made equally as far as how their made and work! I would recommend these to anyone who's looking to buy them though, their perfect for outlining clothes, backpacks, lacrosse gear, cars, bicycles, decorating and especially for music festivals! There are 3 settings on the wire, solid color, slow strobe and fast strobe, it takes 2 AA batteries and can last for up to 4-6 hours depending on its use (personal experiences). It's a overall pretty great buy and if your tech or electrical savy, their pretty easy to make as well! I hope this review helps those in the market to buy, this will not let you down! Thanks!

These lights look so cool, the color is really bright and pretty
These lights look so cool, the color is really bright and pretty. (I bought the green ones and also the pink ones.) We are using them to decorate our totem pole we are taking to Bonnaroo. We haven't got to use them for a long period of time yet, so far we have just put them on our totem. But we have already came across an issue with them, they shorted out and wouldn't turn on and we had to mess with where the wires connect to get it to work again. But for the price you get what you pay for, and they got here quicker than I thought they would. I will update this review once we've used them for a longer period of time to let you all know how they worked out for a Bonnaroo.

Looks sweet!
I ordered the lime green EL wire. It looks pretty sweet. It's very flexible and will be perfect for my intended use. I plan to attach the wire to my motorcycle helmet to give it a "Tron" look. As other reviewers have mentioned, it does make a high pitch whine whenever it is on, but there is no way I would be able to hear that over my motorcycle exhaust so I'm not too worried about it. I don't know how durable this stuff is, but it looks strong enough to not break or deteriorate from being outdoors.

Excellent budget friendly product
Needed some el wire for a last minute halloween costume. For a very low price, the quality was excellent. Lights are very bright, long lasting and well made. The battery pack even has a belt clip. They can be cut to whatever length you need and are easy to bend and manipulate. Only downside is a slight high pitch ringing sound when lit but you can really only hear it if there is no background noise. Highly recommended and would definitely buy again.
