Great little device! If you need tech support this is probably not for you.
I have a Zenith scale with an RS-232 serial output that I previously had interfaced via a serial to bluetooth adapter to a python script on a windows machine that writes data to a SQL database. The bluetooth serial adapter was terribly unreliable and eventually failed so I replaced it with this, using it for socket-based serial transmission over wifi. It's *way* more reliable than the old bluetooth module and the use of standard socket UDP meant that the changes to my python code were minimal.I will say that the documentation is not great - many of the terms in the manual do not match terms in the web GUI (which is in Chinese until you switch it to english) so you kind of have to figure it out from context and do some guess-and-check but after a weekend afternoon of testing and debugging it's now installed and working great! It looks like this thing does about a million different things, you can even use it as a wifi-ethernet bridge as well. Very handy gadget to have in my toolbox.Only downside I can see is that it doesn't seem to have a settings export feature. If I ever toast this one and need to get a replacement I would be in for another weekend of poking at it until I figured out the settings.

chinese junk
im sure this would work if i could read chinese. wifi adapter came well packaged and on time but no instructions at all so i might as well have thrown it against the wall. i did manage to finally find an online users guide and stumbled my way into logging into the wifi adapters setup page but guess what? it's all in chinese!!! wth am i going to do with that when i can not read or write anything in chinese!!!

I wish I would have had this earlier as I wasted money getting Windows 10 Pro on both of my ...
It does work. It was a little troublesome to get working but I do not blame the product. It is likely my lack of network understanding. It took a few times playing around with it and my router and a couple of times resetting the thing but I got it working on both of my laptops. I use it to control my Amateur Radio amplifier over my home network. I wish I would have had this earlier as I wasted money getting Windows 10 Pro on both of my laptops to sign on to my basement computer and control things previously that way. This is a cleaner way to do things as by not signing on to another PC first, the display is much crisper. The thing came from China faster than they quoted too.

Very versatile device
This serial to WiFi converter works great for my intended use. I deducted one star because there was absolutely zero documentation shipped with the unit; the "user's manual" and a couple of useful testing and setup apps (Windows) are only available on-line after a search. The downloaded documentation was, of course, in broken English. It took a while to understand enough to do what I wanted. In fact, another document for another product was needed to get the full picture. Commendably, there were two serial cables (including a null modem cable) plus a 3-foot Ethernet cable in the box, as well as a 5-volt DC switching power supply "wall wart". I plan to use this on my boat to wirelessly transmit NMEA GPS and AIS data from my Standard Horizon GX2200's RS422 output to a laptop and/or an Android phone on the boat, both running OpenCPN. This works well with the device in AP "transparent" mode. As icing on the cake, the unit can SIMULTANEOUSLY operate in STA mode and join my home network over WiFi where I can "see" the same data on my home laptop. Of course, this took a bit of head-scratching and experimenting to get working. All in all, this seems like a very capable device, once you understand how to set it up.

Perfect once you get through the learning and language curve
5 stars because once its configured and you figure it out, they just flat out work. That said everyone else's reviews are accurate. The documentation is terrible. First off, google up USR IOT and download teh most recent drivers and tools and documentation. Secondly, just use the built in web page for configuration. Keep your configuration steps simple and reboot as you do steps. For instance, the first thing i do for each one is join its built in wifi network, change the wifi from AP to Station, and then put in my wifi information. Reboot and let it connect. After you have the new IP address for it just configure it via the web interface. I had trouble using the tools, but once I simplified my setup it was perfect. I emailed support for a question and they got back to me eager to help, so that was a plus. So 5 stars for the end result, maybe 3 stars for the horrible manual and UI, but my problem was solved!

W orks perfectly to control my Russound amplifier over RS232
It doesn't come up with any documentation, but the manual can be found easily by Googling for the USR W610 manual. I was able to set this up to connect to my Russound CAA66 amplifier over RS232 pretty easily.

Not easy to configure at all! Could not get it to function.
Configuration is a nightmare and not in proper English

it was relatively easy to set up and get working for my application
Item works as expected. However, the lack of instructions in the box made setting it up kinda hard. A quick google search for the model number found an English manual. From there, it was relatively easy to set up and get working for my application.I used to use a wired Serial to Ethernet adapter, but after a lightning strike found its way into my house network through that Ethernet cable, I decided to switch to a wireless adapter. This works exactly as I wanted.

No so good
Nigh on impossible to get it to do what I wanted... instructions leave a lot of be desired and has too many exploitable features that hackers would love to get their hands on...

tut was er soll..

magnificent
