Sony XAV-AX8050D 9-Inch Large Display DAB AV Receiver with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Weblink 2.0 Compatibility, Black

This is one the best aftermarket in car entertainment units I have seen or now used. Simple to install and even more simple to operated, with great sound quality and clear east to use menu options. The Apple car play works really well also and the screen is great for satnav use via the TomTom app on the phone, all in all great value for fab system well done Sony!

This is a great head-unit but I think the best advise here is, make sure you are buying this for the size of the screen only. The resolution is slightly lacking and for the price tag I would have expected 1080p but it’s not. CarPlay still looks awesome and if you have 720 content this is also good, it lacks an AV input not to mention an HDMI input, the only input it has is rear camera! I like the simplicity of Sony but I do feel like they cheap out on features and hardware, for half this price pioneer would give you 1080p, HDMI input and even rear screen output but if you decide what is important to you it’s the huge screen then this is the head-unit for you, does look amazing and impressive mounted in the dash. Sound quality is great but I think all modern headunits are of similar power and quality and on that subject I’m also surprised that the Sony has mono sub out so had to order a y - splitter to get the left and right sub output to the woofer, again the previous pioneer unit stereo sub out with no need for extra splitters.

Fabulous unit does everything I need and more. It’s difficult to get a screen unit for my single din car BMW 335i. This suit fits perfectly and is so easy to use and sounds excellent. Delivery was quick and came in first class condition unopened.

Bought to replace a Chinese Android head unit, now I have all the benifits of an Android head unit but now much quicker and superb sound!

Please make sure this will look good in your car before you buy it. The screen sticks out a lot further than I expected and just looks silly. The screen isn't the best quality. It's very susceptible to glare. The touchscreen experience isn't great, nowhere near the quality of even a budget smartphone. However it works, Android Auto and Apple Car Play work fine.

The unit works well and is ideal for my car and it syncs well with my iphone x however:- It is fairly expensive. The touch screen is fairly low quality and takes me back to similar units 5 years ago. Some aspects of Apple Car Play do not seem to work. I gave up with Weblink! The instruction manual is very brief regarding operation.

Is a good radio but didn’t get all parts with it …got £15 credit back but can’t find the parts I need for it so not to happy

Zum erstem Mal in meinem Leben hat plug & play funktioniert. Altes CD/Blutooth Radio raus, Neues rein- geht - unfassbar! Typisch Sony- super, fetter Sound. Bei gleichen Lautsprechern klingt es doppelt so gut. DAB+ ist genial, FM Antenne hab ich gar nicht mehr angeschlossen; das will dann keiner mehr. Android Auto funktioniert toll, Sprachsteuerung funktioniert auch astrein. Das Display ist ok, mehr auch nicht, aber dafür groß, mit allen wichtigen Tasten bestückt und lässt sich komplett schwarz schalten. Ich bin total begeistert! Mein alter T4 ist jetzt eine Luxuslimousine!!

Installé dans une vieille saxo de 2001 pour profiter de google Maps / Waze / Deezer etc.. J'ai pu y branché tout mon système audio (et même le caisson de basse à part car fiche dédiée) ainsi que le micro au dessus de moi pour les commandes audio.. C'est impeccable et ça fait bientôt deux mois que je l'utilise pas un seul bug à déclaré. L'installation est relativement simple même si il faut mettre le nez dans le manuel pour les non connaisseurs. Pour éviter de me faire arracher le poste je ne fixe pas la tablette (ca tient très bien juste en l'emboitant dans le support) et l'enlève en quittant la voiture. Très bon achat, je ne suis pas un grand fan de Sony mais ici ils ont de la répartie !

La radio funciona de 10 venia de una android china y nada que ver. Esta inicia al instante, sin esperas. El cambio a la cámara trasera es instantáneo, además la pantalla de casi 9 pulgadas es una maravilla de usar y estéticamente es bonita aunque sea una pantalla que sobresale pero queda muy bien, al menos en mi vehículo. Por ponerle una pega, cuando da el sol directo a la pantalla se ve poco, pondría mas brillo en la misma para que se viese mejor y la pantalla es resistíva (aunque de muy buena calidad) y no puedes usar varios dedos a la vez por ejemplo para hacer zoom en los mapas, por lo demás un 10.

Fijn apparaat. Werkt snel. Groot scherm dat snel reageert ondanks dat het geen capacitief scherm is. En mooi geluid. Wel jammer dat je het scherm niet wat naar je toe kan draaien. Bij invallend zonlicht is de leesbaarheid matig
