The product looks very well made. I don't know if it is 316 or not, time will tell.The problem is that these are not really for 1" rail. They are too big for 7/8" rail. When I put them on my 1" pulpit rails they don't close as far as they should, the screws just barely reach and then they are not properly aligned.When closed they leave too large of a gap for the mating fitting. I think I can get them to work by grinding them out to the full 1". I am guessing that they are metric and probably 24mm not the 25.4mm that they should be.

This is the best deal for stainless hardware I’ve ever seen, and I noticed it has the weight and feel of what 316 should.

I just installed 4 of these on my new replacement bimini top to replace the cheap nylon fittings that came with it. They fit the 1 inch aluminum tubing fine and the hex screw screwed in tightly.

Doesn’t fit 1” (25mm) SS tube.Don’t buy!Close but it will NOT work
