The 45-Day GRE Vocab Book: Ace the GRE vocab in 45 days

I really enjoy studying books for the purpose of enhancing my vocabulary as a non- native- English speaker. Compared to other GRE books I have read so far ( and others which were not intended for that particular purpose) , this one has quite a few helpful exercises to test one's memory. However, word definitions are too short for a thorough assimilation for the long run. A dictionary , in my opininion , should be a supplementary means to get a more profound understanding of each word. It could also have been conducive for the vocabulary- learner to have sentences in which words are contextually exemplified. But, as I guess , the ensuing exercises may partially compensate for the word definitions consiceness. I would suggest for GRE learners to get some other books ( such as WORD SMART ) as a complementary stuff.

Good book with fun ways of trying to teach you the words, but sooo many errors. Almost every single crossword puzzle has errors with spacing and words fitting. They tell you the answer in the back of the book and yet it doesn't fit in the tiles. If the makers are reading this and want example lets take exercise 51 #4 across and please tell me how to fit the answer.

Anybody who has prepared for the GRE would know how difficult it is to mug up all those complicated English words. The Barrons word list used to give me nightmares at times. This book by Aristotle, on the other hand, makes it fun to remember words by weaving them around different activities and exercises. So you aren’t consciously memorizing the words; rather you are using the words, which helps you remember them better. It sort of gives a context to the word that helps your brain store it within. The only complain I have is that the book only contains a 1000 words or so. They should come out with another book containing more words for advanced test takers. Overall I found this book extremely useful in improving my vocab and recommend it to everyone who is preparing for the GRE.

Innovative book to learn GRE Vocab. Since I didn't have much time, I practiced 2 lessons per day and was able to finish the book in around 25 days. Makes you learn the application of words so was pretty useful in helping me learn vocab.
