BEST INEXPENSIVE MP3 PLAYER I'VE OWNED
This is my 3rd SandDisk Clip and I love them for the price. I smashed the 1st one and the second lasted 2 years before water made it cease to function, so given the abuse, I still think they are of decent quality. After researching the current options, I went with the SanDisk Clip for a 3rd time because they have great sound and a long run time for around $30 (4 gb model).PROS:Durable - I've dropped these many times, and usually the ear plug cord would slow the fall, but the bottom line is that they all kept playing. They are plastic, but very light on impact.Long Play Time - I jog and work regularly with these and appreciate the all day run times. 8+ hours is great!Easy To Use - The menu is completely intuitive to me. I usually drag and drop folders with playlists contained from my computer with ease. I also like it for audiobooks. It has 'resume' and FF is holding the skip button down.Cheap - My refurbished model at ~$25 works great.CONS:Not Water Proof - While I smashed my 1st one, the second one succumbed to rain when it got soaked. They are only mildly water resistant..NOTE: Reset this model by holding the power button down 15-20 seconds. Occasionally, they freeze up, but no big deal to reset. This is likely the most common complaint, "Stopped working." But a reset often brings it back. The 'lock' has moved to the return or menu button on the upper left. Hold for 1-2 second to 'lock' and avoid accidental button pushing.

Good for runners
Bought this for my fiance -- he runs a lot, and likes to have a standalone mp3 player rather than risk getting his phone all sweaty. This has a coherent interface and it has held up to 40-50 miles/week of outdoor running. It does have "REFURBISHED" stamped on the bottom (like embossed in the plastic) but it seems to work just fine. You can get cheaper mp3 players with screens, but their interfaces are always terrible and hard to deal with.I did update this to the latest firmware before using it, and have not received any reports of tracks being out of order or anything like that. Updating the firmware is easy, Sansa has a standalone program you can download that will do it for you. All you have to do is connect the mp3 player to your computer with a USB cord.

My second one and my main mp3player.
Great player as usual, but for some reason mine refreshes many times while using and I get list failure messages while refreshing the media. It seems the small 4 gig internal memory has a limit on the number of folders the player can create and show in the Albums, Artist and Song library. I use a 16 gig external SD Card and a lot of these end up in the Miscellaneous Folder instead of the Album, Artist and Songs libraries. I wouldn't recommend using anything larger than a 8 gig external SD card with this model. My last player had 8 gig internal memory and I used a 16 gig card and had ZERO problems. I would recommend getting ALL the internal memory that I could afford. Maybe I got a defective unit I don't know. I am quite familiar with these players. Battery life and high volume levels are excellent with JLab Audio Ear Buds, they put my old Skull Candy Ear Buds to shame.

not the most durable and battery life not great when using blue tooth function
I've been a fan of this little player for years, but over time, it seems that the quality has decreased. I did not buy the protection and now here we are 7 months later and I wish I had purchased the protection. The clip has broken so that I can no longer transport it easily, which is a real pain because I like using this everywhere I go, whether I'm exercising or just running errands. This is the third time this has happened and I think I will look at other brands at this point. The other issue I have is that I recently started using blue tooth ear buds with them, and that seems to drain the battery on this faster than the battery is drained on the ear buds! That kind of defeats the advantages I have with using wireless earbuds. It's mostly easy to use, but when it moves from one track to the next, it has trouble rewinding back to the previous track. At least this version can do that. Previous versions could not. The last thing that's annoying is that I can't force the player to play my tracks in alphabetical order. This is particularly important with audiobooks that have many tracks. It tends to play them by order of date but a lot of the times, the files I put on them (from the library) are not downloaded in order. So when I start listening to them, unless I'm paying attention, the player doesn't play them in the proper order. At this point, I'm going to be looking at other options.

Love my SanDisk MP3 player
I had owned 3 MP3 players, 2 SanDisks and an AGPTEK. The AGPTEK wouldn't hold my place when listening to an audiobook and I had to write down where I was and then find that place again. It also would not play some audiobooks and finally the clip broke off. That one is now in the trash. One SanDisk fell in water and was ruined (my bad). Now I have 2 SanDisks, one for music and one for audiobooks. I know I only need one, but I like having a backup and it was only $29. Now the new one has all my music on it. The sound quality is good and the battery lasts a long time.

bigger than the older ones
This is the third SanDisk Clip that I have, and it is slightly larger than the older ones with a bigger screen. It is very hard to read the screen in the sun though as there is very little contrast with a light blue background and white writing. I use it for podcasts, so sometimes have trouble seeing which episode I am listening to. If it is not locked, it is extremely easy to accidently push the buttons and either fast forward, jump to a different episode, or start over. Also, I haven't figured out if you can resume an episode in the middle rather than just starting over at the beginning if you leave one before finishing it.

I love this thing
I need it only for jogging. Im using playlists on the go and thats all. Make a folder with a bunch of subfolders and then add tunes to one of the three available playlists on the go. Sound is awesome. Battery lasts very long time. Though i have not been very careful with these. Had like 6 of them in my lifetime because i tend to drop them , or lose em. But do not charge this one with a 2 amp 5 volt charger. You will burn it. I bought a 500mA charger on amazon. It might take a bit to charge, but it'll last you.
