It works
It does work to convert a regular, soda stream cartridge that is design to prevent consumer refilling to one that ca consider can refill with the correct adaptorsa and a source of CO2.

Good replacement for refilling CO² at home
These replacement valves allow easier refilling of SodaStream and similar brand CO² tanks. The hardest part may simply be getting the original valve off the tank if you didn't have a bench vise with soft jaws or a friend with really strong grip. I put a very small amount of food safe lubricant on the O-ring when I replaced the valve which made seating it well a bit easier. This will easily pay for itself after a number of refills off a bulk tank at home vs exchanging tanks in-store.

Works great
I replaced the valve in a sodastream Co2 bottle with this one and was able to fill my sodastream to near capacity from a CO2 tank that I purchased from a local welding shop.(A separate adapter is required to mate the CO2 tank to the sodastream bottle). When finished filling, the sodastream weighed 1020 gm., not far off of its maximum fill weight of 1070 gm. In order to achieve this fill weight I placed the sodastream canister in the freezer for awhile ( a couple of hours) and then filled it from a C02 tank that I inverted. I'm not sure how long it's necessary to cool the canister to maximize filling ( actually forgot that it was in the freezer), but just out of curiosity I initially filled it without putting it in the freezer. After filling it weighed 810 gm. So cooling the sodastream bottle produced very good results. I will be buying another one of these. It took awhile to receive it from overseas, but it was worth the wait. It feels good to jury rig the setup so that I don't have to pay for expensive refills. Take that Sodastream!

Doesn't work with Sodastream automatic machines
Bought for a replacement and the hole is too small to allow the pin to be pushed down by electronic versions of sodastream. Had to return and find another one or just buy another bottle. Fills fine but is unusable after filling, have to now get co2 back out and remove from bottle to return.

Works fine and easy to install
Put the valve from my soda stream bottles into a vice, removed old valve. Threaded in new ones. Immediately able to refill bottles without hassle at full speed. As one should. Probably need to freeze bottles beforehand. I could only get about 150 g into them. Which worked fine but is probably only enough for 20L of soda on my devices. Game changer. And so far no problems. Quality seems fine. It's a brass valve with a 3K blowout valve.

So far so good. I've only refilled my tank once.
So I've been using paint ball tanks for years. Unfortunately, the tanks have expired, and nobody around would refill them. I have 4 24oz paint ball tanks. I bid on a PB tank refill station on an online auction site and won at a great price. Again unfortunately, when the refill station arrived it was for the SodaStream tanks and not Paintball. Rather than send it back, I'm just trying to make the best of what I have to work with. Since I already had one original SodaStream tank without the backflow check valve. I figured it would be cheaper to replace some of the SodaStream tank valves than buy new PB tanks that just will expire in a few years anyway. I already had a 5lb CO2 tank from my Keg system. It's a bit of a pain holding the tank upside down to refill the SodaStream tanks, but I can get a tank with a siphon tube from my local gas supplier. I know what you are thinking.... "You can just buy an adapter to run the SodaStream directly from the 5lb tank", I guarantee my wife would moan about a 5lb CO2 tank sitting on the counter beside the carbonator. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the one start reviews, but so far all is well. If things go bad later, I'll update this review.

Works!
We got one based on reviews to try with our soda stream canisters. We were having trouble refilling with the existing valve. Replaced one and it worked great! Ordering more.

Works great for SodaStream bottles
I swapped out my "refill-resistant" soda stream bottle valve with this one. Works great. Has the 3k burst disk and rubber gasket. After freezing my bottle I was able to top it off with the full 14 oz of CO2 from a 20lb tank. I then installed it back in my Sodastream machine and it works great. Although this overall saves a lot of money from retail exchanging of bottles, you will have to invest upfront for either a 5lb tank or 20lb tank, I got mine at Airgas. However I did not do this to save money, I simply did this because Sodastream is frequently out of stock online and I was tired of driving around looking for stock. Note in one photo I include the Sodastream valve on top with bigger disk, and this product on bottom. Cheers.

Unfortunately the thread for the paint ball tank is or was the wrong thread. Still trying to find this adapter with the thread for Extreme Rage. It is a fine thread.

Helps save money from paying for store refills

Purchased 2 of these based on reviews by "verified purchases." both valves leak C02 slowly from the pin itself. Should have known better to order items that come from a far off place.
