LASERLINE Clear Connections 4 in 1 Memory Card Slot Cleaner

Prior to using this cleaner I thought my camera was on the blink. After using it just once, all error messages stopped. Only the test of time will tell, but it sure seems to have worked.One thing to note: I bought this to clean the SD slot in my underwater digital camera. Since the underwater camera has a an extra thick housing, the SD slot cleaner could not extend fully into the SD slot. I worked around this problem by removing the SD cleaner from the 4-in-1 device.

This will not clean the micro USB on your phone and tablet. It will only clean the bigger ports. The package was a bit difficult to open (packaging was destroyed in opening) so I don't feel right returning it.

Cheap, plastic apparently for 1 - 5x use so even at $5 somewhat overpriced. Would be better if solvent like isopropyl alcohol was included, or better instruction. For most of these problems using this is just wishful thinking because its mostly damage and bad parts see below).PS: Too bad it didnt solve the problem On my Sony DSLR (A57) the memory card slot failed for no apparent reason, after light use over 3 years. Apparently this is a well known and common problem on many recent cameras, not jus Sony, both cheap and expensive. Unfortunately the repair is replacement but the cost exceeds the value of the camera: this part is part of the $200 motherboard, and labor since its out of warranty is $150.

This was a great buy for me. It simply does what it says and does it well. I honestly didn't realize how dirty these card slots got until I started cleaning them... no wonder they eventually stop working. I recommend this product at any price $5 or under.The only drawback to it and room for improvement is that I think it should come with either some kind of replacement option for when the cleaning arms themselves get too dirty. I would have recommended a cleaning solution, but I can see that going horribly wrong for a few people.

I bought this in particular because I had a USB device that no longer worked and it appeared to be because of a dirty connection. It really seemed like something an IT person should keep handy. Unfortunately, the cleaning heads are too big to clean a USB "A" cable end - which is what I really needed. If you want to clean the ports in your computer it will do that, but not the adapters themselves.

Bigger than it looks, well made very sturdy. I needed it to just clean a sd slot on the chartplotter on my boat. Unit would read the sd card and kept freezing up the unit. Cleaned the contacts and WOW, back in business. $1000 electronic unit saved from repair. A++

This is a good product for the price...but, I can only use 2 of the cleaning sticks because I only have USB ports & SD card slots. Also, it needs ones for things that plug into the USB ports like flash drives & cables & stuff, & one for micro SD card slots like card readers & micro SD card adapters, & any other types of plug ins & slots that a computer has. It could definitely be improved upon to add to it's usefulness. Other than that it works great on the things I can use it on.

It's not the greatest cleaner, but it did what it had to do. I don't think it will last very long however. I needed to get into my USB port with a Qtip to clean it all the way.
