Incredible Sound- unbelievable customer service
Great sound and really quite incredible for its size. I have a high end main system of Martin Logan, Pass Labs etc and an audiophile for 40 years and frankly was dubious considering the size of this but pleasantly surprised. Initial set up was very simple and was up and running within 5 minutes. Incredible build quality.Definitely let it break in at least with 10 hours of music before you seriously audition as it was pretty flat upon initial startup, but as we listened you could hear the bass calm down, treble less brittle and open up.So cool looking and definitely a conversation starter.Purchased as a mobile unit to use in my home gym, at bbq area in yard and more so weight was a consideration in not going for the larger units. On the negative side. Can’t connect 2 Bluetooth devices at same timeWhen you lose connectivity with Bluetooth, you have to manually reconnect each timeNo remoteHopefully some of the negative issues will be addressed with firmware updates in future. Considering it was just released hopeful on that front.Update Jan. 6Does not stay connected to WiFi or Bluetooth. If I use device and don’t use for a few hours, app does not find device again and need to either unplug or start fresh as new device every day.Update Jan. 8Ended up sending it back. Literally had to unplug or set up as new every morning. This morning I went through the whole process from bed and was listening to Lady Gaga a foot from reactor with Bluetooth and WiFi enabled and it completely stopped working. Should point out that I have a Tri-Band router with 1000Mbps speed in the house and using an Apple XSMax so no excuse for these issues.Update: Jan.11-2019Purchased a Martin logan Crescendo X and when played next to Reactor sounded defective. Made me really appreciate the sound of this little guy. I would ask the gentleman who says there are other devices out there better at this price point or lower to let me know what they are? I have tried the Naim MUSO, Martin Logan, Audio Engine and more and nothing comes close. More important for me was I bought this to move from bedroom nightstand to outdoor patio and the form factor is second to none. So easy to move around. So things brings me to second part of this. I reached out to Devialet in France and the have been incredible to deal with. While time zone differences some times make for a day delay between emails, they have been all over this. They have escalated all the way to top brass and engineering, had multiple calls with me but have not been able to duplicate the problem there.Guess is I might just have a bad unit. There incredible support as well as sound and form will absolutely prompt me to get another.I have raised the stars back to 4 because of this but will update as things progress.Manufacturer was incredible to deal with. They were horrified about my issue and sent me another unit straight from France under loan to make sure they sorted out the connectivity issues. New unit worked flawlessly. I will say Amazon’s packaging was very sub par compared to what I got from Devialet themselves. Amazon put the main box inside another box twice the size it should have been with a couple pieces of paper allowing unit to flop around during shipping. Unit from Devialet was double boxed with inner box encased with soft styrofoam. Bullet proof. My recommendation at this point is to buy straight from Devialet.

an excellent all-in-one speaker system
i've listen to the demo in the showroom and was really pleased by the dynamic sound and good integration with spotify - i usually listen to spotify on my sp1000m and noble k10ua during commuting. the price made me hesistate and i didnt really listen at home from speaker that much. but then amazon offered a $150 off. i couldnt help but bought a pair after checking with devialet to make sure the warranty gives worldwide coverage.it's not really the very best sound you can have, might not be even give you the best sound for the money. but the whole package, right from the unboxing experience (the elastic cloth over the foam that bounced back flat after i pull out the reactor really amazed me!), effortless setup and pairing, to the powerful and dynamic sound, made me feel it's actually worth the high price it's demanding for this small speaker. and for my small apartment, i don't have the option to buy big floorstanding speaker or using a proper stand for bookshelf. this little baby may not compete well with the lovely ATC or PMC speakers I love so much. but this reactor 900 stereo gave you a whole system for the price of just a decent pair of standmounted speakers! adding the cost for preamp, amp, cabling and the stand, the price could easily double to triple! i recommend the devialet to all those primarily listen to streaming music like me and don't want the trouble (or fun) to play with mix & match of equipment and cable. if space allows, the bigger devialet sounds quite a bit better to me. i gave up the big devialet for the size and also for the advantage no need to use the dialogue for stereo pairing. but now after the recent firmware update, even the devialet classic could be paired in stereo without a dialogue.

An Instant Crowd Pleaser At First And Then A Huge Disappointment
This device is definitely unconventional in the sense that it produces an incredible amount of crystal clear sound at any volume in such a compact package. The bass response is certainly startling given its size. After enjoying it for a month I ended up also buying a Devialet Phantom Gold. I suppose you can call the Reactor a gateway drug to the Phantom realm :))It is worth mentioning that it is rather important to consider where you place it and where you plan to sit/stand while listening to it as this appears to make a difference in terms of bass response, especially at low to moderate volume.January 2020 update:I’ve owned a pair of Devialet Phantom Gold speakers for almost a year. First things first, these are by no means wireless as Bluetooth constantly disconnects. WiFi is not much better. Several times the pair crashed every 15 minutes or so. October’s update to Devialet OS 2 was a nightmare as it made speakers out of sync. It took a month to get it back through yet another update. Both speakers began to output a considerable amount of noise through twitters. This is when things went from bad to nightmarishly ridiculous. The imbeciles at Devialet asked me for numerous videos and bug reports. I obliged. Then things went completely dead quiet on their end. Before things turned for the worse, Ruben Garcia got involved and essentially told the dealer where I bought the speakers to stay out of it and let Devialet handle the situation. Their idea of handling things boils down to ignoring you and doing nothing. Fortunately, the dealer got involved after two months of this idiotic do-nothing and made sure they did not ignore this problem. A threat of litigation on my part for breach of warranty finally spurred them into offering either a swap or a partial refund. I ended up taking the swap and traded it in for something a lot more reliable.I would not recommend these speakers to anyone until Devialet makes considerable improvements in reliability and customer support. If you get the misfortune of dealing with Ruben Garcia (if he is not fired by now) insist on someone else to handle your issues. This idler will sweep your problems under the rug and make nothing but excuses.PsWhen a 300 dollar Bose soundlink revolve speaker is a lot more reliable than a 3000 dollar Phantom, there is something seriously wrong. Spend more on R&D rather than media/marketing hype.
