Can't go wrong with OEM
There's still some items that are lower in price at Amazon. This is one of them. It's the exact replacement part for my Symmons Temptrol shower volume spindle (black, T-23B) - where you only have a shower. If the control is for both shower and tub, you'll need the diverter spindle (similar shape but white, T-23A). Mine was leaking when the shower was running. The O-ring had flatten out so it wasn't providing a good seal. You'll also need the 4 in 1 tool by Raven to get the spindle out. I also applied some plumbers grease on the new unit and it helped inserting it as well as providing some extra sealing power. Be careful inserting the little brass insert - you don't want to drop it behind the wall if your valve is set back into the shower wall. Just take your time and then it's done. YouTube has a lot of videos on how to replace it. Good luck!

good quality=good value
Good quality (looks and feels good) part but as I haven't been able to get the original part out I can't comment on whether it actually works well or not. Will report back if I can get the original out and this new one installed.

Summons shower valve volume control
Replaces oem part perfectly. Caution- the black one is for a shower with no tub and acts as a flow control. The white version is for a shower/tub combo and acts as a diverter to send water to shower head or down to tub fill.

Works! The 25B is for single function shower only. 25A is both shower and tub.

Fit my Harden shower valve
The right part to rebuild my Harden shower volume control. It took a lot of work to track down the correct parts for my 25 year old Harden shower control. Harden has been out of business for nearly 20 years and it was a relief not to have to break into the wall to replace the entire unit.
