Finally an affordable comfy touring seat!
I did not like the stock Vstrom seat from the beginning, so I purchased a gel seat, which was supposed to be more comfortable. It was taller, wider, and absorbed heat from sunlight like nothing else. After a good hour or two, I had to get off of it. I was looking for a replacement now that I use my Vstrom to commute to work 40-50 min each way, and I have to leave the bike in direct sunlight all day. I was between the Corbin and the Sargent, and it seemed like there was no clear cut answer as to which would be best for me, as some people have a Corbin butt or a Sargent butt. What ultimately shaped my decision was the following: the Sargent website did not have a dated look, came with an integrated tool tube, looked more "sleek" than the Corbin seat, did not require any modification or bracket installation to fit my bike, and it was a bit cheaper! I found this seat for a few bucks cheaper on Amazon vs Sargent's website, so I ordered it. Installation was a breeze, and I crammed the tool tube with a bunch of roadside repair items. Overall the fit on the bike is good, although there is a section towards the front where it looks like there is a noticeable gap between where the old seat ended, but that is OK. The shape of the seat takes a little getting used to. It is a lot narrower in the front where your thighs are (yes! I can finally flat foot the bike at stoplights!), but the rear of the seat where your butt will be is nice and wide, and has a nice contour to it, so you really get a feel for where you should be sitting. I am no longer sliding around in the seat when accelerating or braking, and my butt is firmly planted. I have gone on several hour rides with this seat so far and I am loving it!

Good Job Sargent!
Suzuki VStrom is really a great motorcycle. It's incredibly easy to ride, its versatility as a dual purpose motorcycle has no rival, even if compared with more expensive bikes like the BMWs. But its stock seat is not very comfortable at all. It will really burn your back after one hour of riding. After a deep search in the Internet, I found this aftermarket seat and I ordered it based on the reviews. My order thru Amazon, as usual, was processed in a correct and timely manner. I had to wait a little until this seat came to my country (Ecuador), but I have to say that buying it really was a good decision. This seat is a direct replacement for the standard seat. No changes or modifications are needed. The comfort that it brings to the VStrom makes the riding experience a new level of enjoy. And visually it's very cool, too.My wife agrees that the passenger part of the seat is very comfortable, much better than the stock.I strongly recommend this seat to the VStrommers around.

Bad seat, Returned, Buyer beware.
Seat had a horrible fit near the tank. The seller, MX South, tried to blame it on my bike having a tank bra but after arguing with him via email, he agreed to do a return but insisted on getting his last words in. There is another return on here with the same type of fitment problem. I spoke with Sargent about the issue and they sold me the same model seat, which fits just like the OEM.... so I guess it wasn't my bike that was the issue after all, eh MX South??

The only negative found is the passenger's seat slopes down and my wife does not feel comfortable on it
I've put about 300 miles on the new seat and while Sargent states no breaking in period required I feel the seat's comfort will only improve. The only negative found is the passenger's seat slopes down and my wife does not feel comfortable on it. I've decided to keep the old seat for short rides with her.

Returned
Returned seat due to it sloping too much to gas tank and being way to thin where you actually sit so feels like your butt is hanging off the sides

Sargent Seat
I have been waiting for this seat to go on sale since 2007. It is by far the best seat I have ever had on my VSTROM. I have had a Corbin, the factory touring seat, and a custom made seat. The Sargent is better than all the others.

Great Purchase
No ragrets! Not even 1 letter. This seat was a great buy and it is still being broken in. If you do more than 100 miles on a ride, this seat is a must over the factory vstrom seat.
