Precise temperature control allows for power and water savings
Excellent, build of metal. In order to preserve nutrients in the yolk one strives for liquid egg yolk / soft boiled egg. There is a compound in the egg yolk which blocks myostatin and allows therefore for muscle growth. It is essential to preserve this substance by cooking eggs only to the degree which assures liquid egg yolk. This device excels in this task.Other option is to east eggs raw or to obtain freeze dried egg yolk.I prefer to cook my eggs in this little steamer. Highly recommended. Egg peels really easy.Cheap version of this made of plastic with metal plate will do the job also, but are not elegant.

Best looking egg cooker on the market
I make cup noodles whenever I don’t have time for a proper meal, but I like to at least add toppings. Between my electric kettle, my microwave crisper (which I throw a few slices of Canadian bacon in) and this egg cooker, making a quick dinner is a breeze now! This is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing egg cooker I could find; the stainless on black matches all of my other small appliances. As for functionality, I think it works just fine. I read negative reviews mentioning the cooker not remaining off properly and there being no obvious way to tell, which is why I assume there’s an indicator light on them now. The manual does also mention that you should unplug it after each use. What I did for convenience was to just plug it into a little outlet adapter with a switch on the side so I can kill the power to it when it’s not being used. I also don’t understand the trouble with the egg hole punch. You just have to carefully apply pressure in a sort of rotating motion to slowly break through the shell. I found that you actually need to create a larger hole than the punch creates to ensure that your egg doesn’t explode, so I’ll make like three holes right next to each other so that the triangular area between the holes actually caves in to create one larger hole. I also leave the egg in the carton while doing this so that something other than my hand is keeping the egg propped up. I’ve had zero trouble with the cooker using theses methods. I will say that their recommendations for poached eggs are off though; I find that 65ml gets you whites that are cooked enough with yolks still pretty soft and runny enough (this is using grocery store large white eggs).

2 things are problems
1. the top handle is plastic crap and broke the 2nd time I used it... BUT easy fix with a small wooden dresser knob.2. the plate that you set your eggs on is shallow.... it is made for small to medium eggs. When you have large or x-large eggs they will NOT stand up. This is the main thing that NEEDS TO BE FIXED by the manufacturer. But I LOVE the stainless steel design. NO plastic and the quality seems to be great.... and because of this I would buy this product again. Hopefully they will fix the egg holder/plate issue, which needs to be larger and deeper.

Amazing and good for the environment!!
I am totally committed to trying to only using products that are healthy, non-toxic, and good for the environment!! This little egg cooker is a triple threat. I first saw one at Fry's grocery store and I bought it cuz I love hard boiled eggs for breakfast. When I got it home I realized it was almost entirely made of plastic...yuk who wants to consume anything that is made with high temperature plastic, not healthy to me. So, I returned it and then went on a hunt for another version of this item. Found it!! It is amazing! My eggs come out perfectly every time no matter how hard or soft I want them, it is fool-proof and fast. You can also make fried eggs and omelets if you so wish. So healthy, nontoxic and the best part is I can make 1 to 6 hardboiled eggs to perfection with only 2oz...that is TWO OUNCES of water!!! Not a whole pot of water that you then just throw down your drain. And if you live in a community like mine your water bills are ridiculously high thanks EPCOR, but I digress… So, you are eating healthy organic eggs cooked (not in plastic) to perfection and saving the environment at the same time all for only $32.00 I would say that is definitely a Win Win WIN. Oh yeah and lower water bill so I guess it’s a win win win WIN Yippee!!

Absolutely incapable of cooking eggs whatsoever!!! SAFETY HAZARD!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
Although nice in appearance this is horrible in function. The egg shell piercer on the bottom of the water cup is a nail head. This wouldn't be so bad except it has sloping sides that force the egg shell, once pierced, outward. This cracks the shell. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.The case design is open. The exterior has many holes and vents on its bottom, conveniently not pictured in photos... So you can't wash it. Well, guess what? When an egg shell is cracked, and its egg is cooked, it makes a mess. But in this case, you can't clean it up because you run the risk of short circuiting the electronics inside due to a vented design. The instructions even say that you shouldn't wash it... I'm just wondering if the engineers of this has ever had a broken egg in their kitchen that they had to allow to rot...hope your nose doesn't work very well...When shells are cracked, and eggs leak, everything gets cemented together. Lid. Eggs. Egg Tray. Base. Countertop. Its reminiscent of that scene in ALIENS when they enter the egg chamber...Except you don't get to die, you get to deal with messy eggs and an eternally foul smell. The water trough is not deep enough. Water boils over every time. So, you never get enough steam to cook your eggs. As a result you get direct heat on your eggs rather than steam, and your eggs get unevenly cooked, that is, what remained in the cracked shell. The power button turns on but DOES NOT TURN OFF. Add boiling over water to an open case containing an electrical circuit, and egg that can act as fuel... Can anyone say FIRE HAZARD?!?! Seriously this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Class Action, anyone?!?!

Great Cooker for the Price
What I like the best about this cooker is that the trays are made of stainless steel. I had a concern about using black plastic that can release cancer causing material.I am enjoying boiled eggs every morning!
