Reviving a timeless classic... Thank you Seiko!
I don't typically take the time to write a review on a product, but this is an exception. Thank you Seiko, for updating and reintroducing a timeless classic! In 1983 I received the H558 for graduation, and literally wore it everyday for close to 20 years. I went through 3 rubber wrist bands and several batteries during this time. I never really got on the "Arnie" bandwagon, because I already owned the watch before I saw it in the movies. I remember seeing it and thought, "hey, he's got MY watch!" I remember the watch being pretty expensive, up around the $500 mark. Which back then, was quite a bit of money, especially for a high school kid. I don't wear a watch as a fashion statement. To me a watch is an indispensable tool that I relied on and wore every day and night, no matter what I was doing. Rock climbing, diving, snorkeling, cave exploring, boating, biking, surveying, etc. For it's 3rd or 4th battery change (I can't remember), I sent it to Seiko to have them go through it, replace the seals and install a new battery sometime in the late 90's. I'm glad I did, because apparently they stopped making that model in 2000. Once that battery died, I retired the watch because I was tired of dealing with the battery change every 3-4 years. I opted for their dive watch with the automatic jeweled movement. I was very happy with that model for many years, but it began losing quite a bit of time, like 2-3 minutes a day. I missed the accuracy of my old watch, but didn't want to have to deal with the batteries. I discovered that Seiko brought out a new watch last year, with the same look, feel and operation as my old one... I bought it immediately! Knowing my history with the old watch, here is my take on the new one: I absolutely could not be more pleased with it. Size wise, the new watch is a small amount larger diameter than the old one. The screw down push buttons and crown are a little more obtrusive than the old one, which makes it look even bigger. However, they are very user friendly and function well. I like the screw locks on the buttons, because it protects them from being accidently pushed and changing the mode the watch is in. The LCD screen works just as well as the old one, but the new watch has a much brighter LED light in it. The functions are the same as the original, with multiple time settings, day/date, stopwatch and alarm. The new silicon band is much more comfortable and forgiving over the old band material. My wrists are kind of small, but the new watch, being even larger than the old one, wears well and is very comfortable. I think the thing that I am most excited about is the fact that it is solar powered. In the pictures (old watch on the left), you can kind of see the face of the new one being a little off black, or brownish, so that is apparently the solar panel. I find that it charges quickly, even under office lights, and has a readout that tells you the battery level. So if it is running low, go outside and do something! It has the accuracy of a fine quartz movement, without ever having to change the battery, ever again. In closing, there are many brand names with flashier watches, and more expensive automatic jeweled, solar or kinetic movements, but I consider this to be a durable "working" tool with a long heritage. Seiko is the only brand watch that I will buy, and only time will tell if this one can withstand the daily abuse I plan to put it through. But if it is anywhere near the quality of the old one, I have confidence it will last me a lifetime. Thank you Seiko!

Great legendary watch! I feel like Arnie :)
I am happy to finally have the legendary Seiko Arnie in my collection! The watch is massive (but lightweight), very good assembly and great vintage style (from the 80s) I would say that the size of this model is universal - it fits perfectly both small and large wrists. My wrist is 7.5 inches and it looks great. The rubber strap is extremely comfortable, soft, pleasant to the touch. The solar powered mechanism is very good - seconds hit the indices accurately, without discrepancy. There is a function of falling asleep by staying in the dark for a while - the display goes out and the hands are arranged at 12 o’clock, but continues to keep accurate time. As soon as it detects light, the display automatically turns on and the hands stand at the exact time. Bezel fits perfectly at 12 o'clock. Very fast and secure delivery and very well packed! Thank you!

Should be an awesome watch
I loved this watch when it arrived and hated returning it, but on the third day I had it, I was driving on a sunny day when it suddenly stopped functioning. Being a solar powered watch and having recently checked the battery, I knew it wasn’t a low power issue. It didn’t come back on even after some time, so finally I did a factory reset. Everything seemed fine, but from then on, as soon as any sunlight hit the dial, the watch would immediately turn off and wouldn’t come back on until it was out of the sun. But when it came back on it would be a completely reset and the hands were no longer calibrated I read online that this is common for this model made in and after 2023 and that Seiko is not offering a repair currently. Not usually a negative review person, but this watch gets a ton of praise (rightfully so if it works!) and I never saw this until it happened to me. When I searched the issue, I found it’s extremely common in the latest model years

Seiko Arnie, Amazing watch at a great value with iconic movie history
Ok let's begin with "GET TO DA CHOPPA" this watch is the Seiko Arnie reissue with updates engine and solar and its epic. It's not only one of his favorite watches it's been in 4 of his movies. The Seiko H558-5000 is most famous for being worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in several of his 1980s movies, including Commando (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Predator (1987) and The Running Man (1987). Therefor it is often referred to as the Seiko Arnie Diver. I pulled the "TRIGGER" on one of the most ICONIC action movie watches of all time. While this is an updated reissue with new internals the look and feel is exactly the same and I love everything about it... also it fits well for its size. A larger face and shroud (basically a seiko tuna) its lugs hang downward and it very comfortable for all day wear in the office or our in the field. Great LUME all night glow and an internal light on the digital panel. So very effective in all light conditions. Plus ISO rated up to 200m 660 feet of pressure depth so it's an REAL DIVER. Lastly since it's so iconic there are literally hundreds of bands, bracelets and straps as well as steel and polished shrouds or plastic and colorful cerakote guards. YEAH YOU CAN MOD THIS WATCH. I wont because I wanna leave it's a ARNOLDS watch while I hunt PREDATORS in the jungle but you can have it your way and go absolutely nuts with it if you wish. Great 80s nostalgia with current internal tech best of both worlds if you just want a daily wear workhorse too!

Great freaking tool watch
Yeah this thing ain't winning any beauty contest. But in a weird way that's a part of why I like it so much. This is a utilitarian tool watch. I've owned and used this watch almost every day since late 2020. I work as a lifeguard and I am contracted with ROTC so I take this thing into the elements a lot. From diving into the pool constantly to roughing it in the woods up mountains and in mud. This sucker keeps on ticking. I swapped out the rubber strap for a green nato for comfort and style and I refuse to let it leave my wrist since. Solar power works great and its awesome not having to worry about battery life or accuracy issues. It's bezel does feel a little mushy but it's not too terrible and works as you need it to. And of course with seiko divers the lume is fantastic and a life savior in night land nav. It is a chunky watch but due to its smaller lug to lug width it actually fits rather well on my smaller sub 7 inch wrist. Wears much akin to a medium sized G-shock. Provided are photos of my configuration of it up close and how it looks in the wild. Overall. Very stylish and unique tool watch that more than holds its own in a world of smart watches. Plus having that arnie confidence in your wrist never hurts.

The iconic Seiko Arnie
The Seiko Arnie (SNJ025) Reissue is amazing! I've wanted to get one since the reissue in 2019 but was a little put off by the price. It generally hovered anywhere between $450-$525 USD. But in recent months it's come to down to around the mid $300 which to me is a fantastic value. Love the ani-digi dial with alarm, dual time, stop-watch, and a cool function that lets check the battery level(or capacitor charge level, since technically there is no battery). The solar movement, in my opinion, makes it an even better value without the necessary battery change that would be needed at some point. Seiko lovers like myself don't need to hear about the significance and heritage of this watch. If you know, you know. But if you're on the fence or thinking of buying your first Seiko or new to watch collecting, believe me, this watch is worth every penny they're currently selling for. I got this one for $332 USD with a 17% deal from Amazon. The bottom line- this is an awesome watch and my other Seikos will probably be spending quite a bit of time in the case for awhile because Arnie will be getting major wrist time for the foreseeable future 😉. Get one!!

It's A Watch
I purchased the watch about 2 months ago. The seller (It's About Time) delivered the watch quickly, new, and well packaged. The instruction manual is on-line. It took me a few minutes to adjust the watch to the correct time. In roughly 60 days it has only gained 9 seconds. I like that the analog will sync and adjust to the digital time. Therefore, you adjust the digital time and on the watch and that adjusts the analog time, down to the second. I like the analog portions of the watch. The watch seems to be very well built and solid. It is a thick, beefy watch. Case is about 12mm. The bezel is tight and rotates with solid clicks. I really like the solar charging part. It is nice to know I do not have to get batteries replaced in a couple of years and it can be completely charged for a several months just by being in the sun a few hours or under lights. The case may be 48, but I think that may include the the adjustment buttons. The actual watch face is only about 42/43, which may be why others say it wears smaller. The lug is 22 mm and I immediately replaced the band with a NATO strap. The silicone of the band was not bad, but the clasp/buckle was aggravatingly over size. Despite the watch face being smaller the hands are visible in pretty much all conditions. The luminous white hands and silver second hand have a great contrast against the black face both day and night. When you come in from the bright sun, if the room you come into is a little dark, the glow is very noticeable. At night, the illumination starts bright, after about 5 hours, it is a little more difficult to see. Sekio has incorporated a power saver where the analog watch will stop after so many hours of darkness. Once in the light, or if the digital "watch" button is pressed, the hands will correct to the proper time and the digital section at the top will illuminate. I have looked at the watch on several occasions when I woke up in the middle of the night and wondered why it seemed like it was 0237 last time I looked, then I realized it was 0400 after pressing the button. The digital aspect of the watch is ok, but has a fault. It has a timer, an alarm, a digital time format, and an alarm. All these work fine. The alarm is not going to be loud enough to wake a heavy sleeper, it is used for that. The issue is, if you have decent eyes with 20/20 vision, it can be used effectively. If your vision is not perfect, it is going to be difficult. I am ok with it, but if I wanted digital stuff I would have probably bought a smart watch or a cheap digital one. I bought it because I like an analog watch where I can glance at the face and get the time. Yes, I realize I could do the same with a digital watch, but to me, analog is just ingrained in my brain. Overall it is a good watch. Aside from the clasp/buckle, I have no major complaints. If I could get a redo, I might consider the SNE543P, since I am going to replace the band. However, I am more than satisfied with this one. If something changes, I will update the review.

Seiko SNJ025 "The Arnie" Love It!
I have been shopping for the Arnie for two years but was hesitant due to the mechanical problems reported in the 2023 models. Well during the Prime Day sales I found the Seiko SNJ025 at a great price via a partner vendor and decided to take a risk. I have had the watch for 2 months and use at least 5 out of the 7 days of the week. I am excited to report NO issues it works fine. Additionally, this watch is the most comfortable watch I have. My wrist is 8 3/4 inches but this watch wears fantastic and a joy to wear. I recommend it highly, but research before buying any pre-owned watch
