I have 4 ferrets, 2 of each sex. My boys are the ones who tend to get sick, even though my girls are small even for females. My Waardy recently was sneezing & coughing a lot. I figured I'd give this a shot since my finances aren't what they were 2 yrs ago & can't swing a trip to the vet for a cold. What's kinda ironic is the day this was delivered, he stopped... Of course. But I figured, with 4 ferrets, 3 of which are 5 yrs old, it couldn't hurt to have on hand. Well, when I looked at the bottle, I was a bit surprised to read that, not only can you use it on the ferret, but also in a humidifier.... So I popped the lid & died a little inside. It's Vicks. It's freakin Vicks. And Jax, Jax was very upset when I put a drop under his nose, like the bottle says. After a couple mins of watching him wipe his nose on everything & anything, to get the smell off his moosh, he started trying to clean his face with his hands & I immediately grabbed a warm washcloth & wiped his face. I didn't want him to accidentally ingest it, or worse yet, accidentally rub it into his eyes. Have you ever gotten menthol in your eyes? or even close to your eyes? I'm not putting my baby through that. It might work great. IDK. Before I'm willing to try again, I'm bringing the bottle to the vet to get his opinion. He's a ferret guy & he's never steered us wrong before. I know he would tell both his personal & professional opinion.I can't tell you that it doesn't work, cuz IDK. I can tell you that after comparing the bottle of Vicks & this, that they are almost identical. So my recommendation, print out the list of ingredients & take it to your vet, before you buy it. And this is a 2oz bottle. It says you should use 1oz -2oz in a humidifier alone (1 use is a ½ to a full bottle,) so if you have a sick ferret & want to use it in both a humidifier & topically, you'll need multiple bottles, which will cost, at least, $20+. I can get medicine from the vet for that & then just buy a regular bottle of Vicks for humidifiers that will last longer than this tiny bottle.

I didn't realize congested ferrets was such a common problem until I looked up solutions for it and came across this. One of my ferrets always sneezes a lot and sometimes sounds really congested. I was a little concerned that he could have a resperatory problem, but these symptoms have persisted over years despite changing the type of litter I use, cleaning the cage more often, and washing the bedding more often. I also don't use anything with strong fragrances on any of the ferrets stuff, and he is the only one of my four ferrets that is like this. I just figured he must be extra sensitive to allergens, like humans with allergies. After learning about this product, I was really eager to try it out. I applied it directly to the ferret a couple days in a row, and I did notice that he didn't sound as congested as before. I now use this regularly directly on the ferret if he sounds really congested, or in there bedding otherwise, and it seems to be working. I definitely recommend this to someone with a chronically congested ferret!

Ferret was super sick for a while and I thought it was probably allergies. I decided to try this and within two days he was back to good again. We need to use it regularly otherwise his cough comes back. But it works like magic.My three star review is because the listing is misleading and I was very surprised to only receive one item. Other than the false advertising this product is great. And is a must for ferrets with coughs and allergy symptoms.

I couldn't find who to contact so I will just leave this in review for others. In every picture it shows as a bundle, the probiotic spray is not actually included!! I hope the FerretRX actually works but it was the probiotic pictured with it that I was really wanting since I already had a similar FerretRX.

I've gotten this stuff multiple times. Herman (ferret) gets sneezy from time to time. Especially since I had started using this critter cleaner spray from Petsmart. Well no matter how much I was wiping his cage down he got worse. So I remembered that being the only new thing i used besides his shampoo. I cut them both out since they only said "for small critters" didn't list a ferret, didn't not list one so I put the x on it. What I use now to clean his cage is a mixture of 91% rubbing alcohol and water in a sprayer. He almost entirely stopped sneezing. Then I figured well what if he has a cold? My room gets pretty cold at night. So I got the rx stuff sprinkled it everywhere in his cage, put some in his nose. And so far so good.

Brought this because one of my 4 ferrets started to sound like he was congested. Used this product in the past many times over the years, works like a charm. In a few days Chopper was sounding normal. I had some left that I brought from somewhere else and brought this one just in case I did not have enough left in the other bottle. Only issue I had is the sealed had come off at some point during shipping. The bubble wrap around the product was not messed with and the sealed was up in the cap. Packaging smelled like the product and an oily mess.

So my ferret has been wheezing/coughing constantly for, like, 2 years and nothing has seemed to help. Changed the litter, changed the detergents and cleaners for her cage and accessories, even going litterless with puppy pads for a while, no incense/candles/temperature fluctuations. There are no vets that treat ferrets in my area so I just pretty much gave up and got used to her breathing issues. I didn't even know they made this stuff until a couple weeks ago. I've been practically assaulting her with this stuff for a week now morning and night and her wheezing/sneezing/hacking-up-a-lung coughing has diminished by probably 75%. It smells like a better version of Vick's VapoRub which I don't mind. For the first time in what seems like forever she's starting to breathe easy!
