Hinkle Fieldhouse: Indiana's Basketball Cathedral (Landmarks)

This is an excellent read. Angevine goes in depth into the history of Hinkle Fieldhouse, and its role from Hoosier Hysteria to the modern success of the Butler Bulldogs Basketball team. A must read for fans of Butler Basketball, and general basketball fans.

This is probably a self-published book, but, if you are into Indiana basketball, you'll love it anyhow. Could have been much more deeply researched; I haven't lived in Indiana in 55 years, but was familiar with most of the material. Interesting tid-bit: the basketball court in the Fieldhouse was originally designed 90 degrees from present orientation; the sun blinded the players.

Learn all you need to about a great building that has stood the test of time.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband. We have watched many games at Hinkle over the years, and it is great that the history has been documented!

If you are a basketball fan, this is a great book about one of the temples of basketball, and the people who helped to build the legend surrounding it. Good off season reading!

I loved it. I've followed Angevine for years for college basketball insight, and his writing style fit perfectly for Hinkle's broad history. The pages read more like a clips of film, bolstered by nicely chosen photos. It read easily, but it took me time because I kept going back to reread certain moments... He explained others' triumphs inside the fieldhouse in such detail, I wanted to go back and have those feelings of pride and joy again. Hinkle is so much more than a building, and we're all lucky that Eric chose to tell its story. Thank you!
