A fantastic book
This book is sizeable and can be a bit unwieldy but it's a fantastic item if you want to learn more about a pretty unique and unusual entry into the Star Trek saga. It definitely had a unique look. This book goes into depth about how the designers created concepts and how these were translated to the big screen. It's worth a look.

So impressed
This may be the best book about a film production that I have ever read. Expertly researched, beautifully laid out. A real stand out book in my collection.

There is no comparison
Whether we realise it or not this is the book we have all been waiting for to arrive since 1979. An absolutely essential book for anyone even remotely interested in the Star Trek movies. I am eternally grateful to Titan for releasing this beautiful tome chronicling the journey of this fascinating movie. Owning most of these Art of and Making of books over the years from Star Wars, Alien, Blade Runner etc....this has to be one of my favourites already! I have always been fascinated by this movie and also frustrated over the years with the lack of written information regarding its production, but happy to report this really does make up for that. Hopefully we might see a similar release covering Wrath Of Khan to go alongside the brilliant book by Alan Asherman.

Could have been more in depth
Great book, with some unseen images and detail on the production, but I was expecting it to be more in depth - I read it in a single sitting as its much more a coffee table book kind of thing. Was very disappointed the legendary “transporter malfunction” scene was not covered at all - good but not as thorough as JW Rinzlers books for example.

An in depth book that will give you a new appreciation of the film
A well researched boom with great behind the scenes photography documenting the creation of the key effects in the film.It does make you reappraise how good it ended up looking when you consider the troubles they had and the enormous time pressure.Highly Recommended.

Tremendous book
The film is chalk or cheese to some.Personally I consider it gets better with age.Books and magazines covered the movie in various ways at the release. But not like this book.Just a top quality read. Some really carefully selected pictures many you may not have seen before.Gifts don't come better than this.Must buy.

Enjoyable look at the effects and production design of the landmark first TREK movie.
I'd have preferred the kind of Making of book covering the entire production of the beautiful looking but troubled film, but this is a nice book, with some great art, deleted scenes and other bits covered making it worthy of purchase.
