Shimano PD-RS500 SPD-SL Road Pedal

These pedals are easy to clip into, feel solid, and have performed flawlessly on every ride. The build quality is excellent, and they offer a secure connection while still being forgiving enough for newer road cyclists. Great value and a fantastic upgrade for any road bike.

Nice pedal and easy to clip in using Shimano cleats. The functionality and performance of using this pedal versus not using a clip in pedal is a game changer. I was a bit worried clipping in and out would be difficult but its actually very easy so you don't have to worry about tipping over at a stop.

I ride multiple bikes and am always looking to add another into the garage. Triathlon, road, MTB, fat. One thing I keep common across the bikes are pedals. I have Shimano shoes, I use Shimano SPD-SL cleats, I need pedals to match. These are going on a fat bike that currently has platform pedals, so not worried about weight. Yes, I am putting SPD-SL road cleat pedals on an off-road bike; totally violating all bike norms but I already have the shoes. As this thing is a fat bike, weight becomes secondary. I pay less, I get 100-grams more; yes my tri-bike has Dura Ace where grams and performance matters. Here I want clip-in/clip-out using the same supporting equipment I already have. I still get Shimano quality. These even came with a brand-new set of yellow cleats; bargain. Pay more, get less weight. Pay less, you don’t get Shimano.

Overall product works great and as intended but doesn’t seem completely new. Like always I checked who the seller was because it seemed like it was a lil sketchy, luckily this time it paid off as they directly didn’t come from supplier or Amazon. I doubt product is new because of how it was shipped to me. Amazon envelope seemed undamaged while this arrived beat up upon opening. Also you can see in the pictures it looks like pedals were already greased up and previously attempted to be installed. My assumption is they were a return from someone else with no use and shipped to me in original packaging. No worries for me because now it takes me not having to lubricate the pedals. Directly installed to my bike with ease and clipped into my cycle cleats no problem. So I can’t complain because they seem basically new just a return from someone else. Hence the 4 starts not 5 for labeling them “New” I don’t mind though.

OK, these are amazing to go with my Shimano shoes that I bought with my Schwinn IC bike the pedals that came with that evidently were more along the lines of peloton and they did not work with the Shimano even though they said they would so I had to buy new pedals in order to get the cleats to work and these work perfect also easy to swap out

Easy to install and solid build for the price.

I think a better choice than the carbon fiber ones. These are very durable and sturdy compared to those.

Have these on my road bike in Italy. Love them.

Great value as the cleats alone are £15, work just as well as the top end £200 odd dura ace and look good. Well made and usual shimano quality. Ease of clipping in is better than higher priced ones. Realistically the weight saving of the higher end ones is not really worth the money,
