We bought these as part of an emergency contingency plan for light and heat when losing power during winter storms, but they're really attractive! Now they're serving double dirty as decorative accents throughout the house! Good, useful product!

Picked two of these up for my living room coffee table. They’re simple, but provide an elegant addition to the room with a touch of rustic charm. Easily will accommodate someone glass votive candles. One came with a broken glass pane, but they were packed well so it must have been a fluke. Amazon sent me a replacement which came in a day. Overall pleased with the quality and the value for the price is great.

I'm glad I was able to find a lantern like this. You would be amazed at how few people at stores like "Michaels" and "Home-Goods" will ask you "Huh? I'm not sure what you're asking-for. What's a 'lantern'? o.O" Srsly? Srsly. -__-In any case, it took awhile, but I found one of these that was the correct size (as opposed to, y'know, the size of a birdcage ::COUGH, COUGH:: <.<) and the correct shape as well. If you're witchy, its Iron composition makes it great for spell-candles because Iron blocks malice and other low-frequency energies. More generally, its basic, unobtrusive color will jive nicely with lots of different settings. It's elegant and gets attention without seeming like a desperate cry for such. It's also great to find one that will hold an *actual* candle, instead of some piece of plastic with an LED light and a battery. I get that those are safer and more reliable and all, but they look SOOOOO TACKY. >__< ::flail:: Personally, any day of the week I'll accept the responsibility of working with real flame over having to replace BATTERIES in a CANDLE. Maybe it requires a little more situational awareness, but is that really such a bad thing?One thing about which I am not yet sure is the open panels at the top. It's got glass panes in the lower "windows" but none in the top before it gets to the "roof." With a good enough gust of wind, I feel inclined to worry that it might blow in and extinguish a flame. *Not* a situation with which you want to be dealing when it's your sole source of light on, say, your porch at night, or worse - during a blackout. However, the open panes in the top do make it easy to get a long-nosed lighter (like the kind they make for grills) in there to light the candle without having to constantly re-open the "door," which can be a bit of a pain in teh backside to latch properly.It's worth noting that this lantern has no pin, or concavity or otherwise in the "floor" to keep your candle in place. It's not something that you want to be wobbling around in the breeze a whole lot, and you really shouldn't use a candle that's likely to fall over with any jostling. I would stick with those that are 3 to 4-1/2" wide. You probably couldn't fit a five inch thick candle through that door anyway.Finally, the panes of glass are held in there pretty sturdy. Maybe a little bit too much, if you ever wanted to take them out to "frost" them, or something, that is. You might break the tabs that hold the glass in place if you tried to bend it twice.

Perfect for what I will be using them - outdoor ambiance on my lanai with rechargeable candles (flames not allowed in apartment complex). Accommodates fairly large candles

The item is not a lantern, it is a white vase. We tried twice but it was a vase both times. Don’t order if you would like a lantern!
