She just used to heat it up in the oven, then slice it and add butter. Delicious. Review: Great for my lazy Italian Wife! - Have you ever dreamed of bread so convenient that it pops right out of a can, like a culinary jack-in-the-box? Well, pinch yourself, because you're not dreaming – canned bread is real! And let me tell you, it's a game-changer, especially for my wife, the self-proclaimed "laziest chef in Italy." My wife, bless her, believes that cooking is an art best enjoyed from a distance – preferably the distance between our couch and the kitchen. So, when we discovered canned bread, it was like the heavens parted and the culinary gods smiled down upon us. This bread is so easy, even my wife, who thinks boiling water is a bit too "chef-y," can make it! But wait, there's more! Not only does this bread miraculously emerge from a can with the ease of a lazy Sunday morning, but it also pairs wonderfully with her other specialty – tomato sauce made from canned tomatoes. Yes, you heard it right, canned tomatoes. Because why bother with fresh tomatoes when you can just pop open a can and call it a day? In conclusion, if you, like my wife, believe that the best Italian cooking involves as little effort as possible, then canned bread is your new best friend. It's the culinary equivalent of a mic drop – simple, surprising, and somehow, against all odds, delicious. Buon appetito!

Mediocre Bread Product
I used to see this item in grocery stores when I lived in the Midwest. But since I've lived in the West now for many years, and apparently this product is not marketed here, I had assumed it was no longer made. So when I saw mention of it recently on social media, I decided to see if Amazon carried it, and I ordered a can. It looks and tastes just as I'd expected. It actually has more of a cake texture than a bread texture. Taste, of course, is personal, but to me it's just mediocre. It's okay, but I wouldn't call it delicious. It's also a bit of trouble getting it out of the can. So it was worth a try, but I don't intend to buy it again.

Tastes just like I remember from when I was a kid about 75 years ago.

Absolutely Disgusting
How are folks eating this stuff? Absolutely disgusting taste. Tastes and smells like plastic. My order didn't expire for another 2 years, and the can still had a good vacuum seal when opening. Tried pan frying it with butter like others suggested and it did not help.

Bioengineered Ingredient!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bread tastes good no problem with the taste but have a problem that actual ingredients are not listed on the pics associated with this product! I will include my pics of the bread I bought and it shows “contains a bioengineered food ingredient” which does not show up in pics they include of product before you buy! I have a problem with this since I would’ve not purchase this item, knowing this!! Be careful

Yum!
This is the very same brown bread we ate with beans in the 60’s and 70’s! It still is great on a chilly day or evening, served with ham and nostalgia. The quality is great, stays moist and fills you and warms you at the same time. Very easy preparation as well.

Perfect, just like I remember thru out my 84 yesterday of life. Enjoy it.
A wonderful new England treat that this 84 years old Midwesterner has love since childhood.
