Delighted with this pillow. Instantly fixed my allergies and so comfortable! No more down for me.
I have been using this pillow for several weeks and I'm a huge fan. I never use polyesther or foam pillows because they can't be molded appropriately (you can't adjust their shape or thickness and it's never quite right). What I've been using for the last few years is feather pillows. But I was just diagnosed with an allergy to feathers so I was looking to switch. Feathers are also too hot and have a tendency to flatten out over the course of the night.Ok, so what do I like about this buckwheat pillow? It is so adjustable. In just one second I can make it really high, really low, higher on one side, etc. Nuzzle my head in and it conforms perfectly to my head shape. And amazingly, it holds the shape once you put your weight on it. Like, all night. When I think about going to sleep I think of this pillow and it makes me happy and look forward to the rest. The other thing is that it doesn't seem to get hot, like most pillows. When it's chilly it doesn't seem to be cold either. It is just a comfortable temperature and breathes quite well. Now, to be clear, it doesn't exactly feel soft. It almost feels like I imagine a sandbag would. Except it's not as heavy or cold. But if you just feel it, it almost feels hard. Nevertheless, you nuzzle in and it conforms perfectly, which makes it comfortable. It took me exactly one night to get used to it. Now I feel that super soft feeling pillows like down are less desirable and less comfortable.By the way, my allergy symptoms immediately went away when I went to this pillow. My sinuses used to get really stuffed up at night and I guess it was because of the down.Downsides to be aware of:1. This pillow stinks. It's been several weeks now and it still stinks. It has a bit of a sweet but chemical smell. The box adamantly says there is no pesticide but I'm not so sure. The smell isn't awful and it's not overpowering, but it's there. I still hope it will go away but it won't be real soon. I'm thinking of taking the buckwheat out and laundering the fabric in case it's a product of the "all natural" fabric production process.2. This pillow is small. I got the "standard size" but it's clearly smaller than a normal pillow and is quite small inside the pillowcase. Actually the size is fine, just smaller than expected. If you have any doubt, go with this size or bigger. I can't think the really small sizes are good. Part of the purpose of a pillow (for me) is to have something to rest my arm on or put my arm under and if this was any smaller it wouldn't work.3. There is some amount of noise. It definitely makes noise as you nuzzle into it but then that stops. But there is just enough sound as you lay there that it can be annoying if you are very sensitive to that kind of thing. I am, but luckily I sleep with earplugs in, so the sound doesn't bother me at all. Also, I guess I was expecting some kind of special fabric or construction. This is basically just a pillow shaped bit of plain fabric (like muslin or something) with a zipper. Now I see why people build them themselves. If you are a sewist, maybe I'd suggest going that direction. The amount of fill is good. You can smash it pretty flat if needed or you can very easily puff it as high as I can imagine anyone wanting. I see no need to remove or add fill, although to do so would be very easy.

Love at first sleep
Iβve had a small Bucky pillow for more than 20 years- not the same one, but when one wore out, Iβd get another. This time, the small one seemed smaller than the one I was accustomed to using, so I ordered the larger pillow.Turns out, this is actually bigger than the one I thought I was ordering, but I tried something new- actually sleeping on it instead of strangling it in my arms all night. And it was glorious. At first, i thought I would be annoyed at the sound of the hulls when I shifted my head, but it was actually so comfortable that I only shifted twice before I was out.And when I woke up for whatever reason I wake up at least twice a night, I was comfortable no matter what side of the bed I faced, and fell back to sleep without a problem. Not only do I love it, but I got a text from my husband today, telling me he stole my pillow after I got up and loved it, so heβs getting one too. You have no idea how difficult it is to buy a pillow he likes! So Iβm surprised at the size but what a wonderful accident! And yes, Iβm still hugging the tiny pillow too!

Bigger than expected and no lining...
My husband has a buckwheat pillow and I like that it's small enough for him to pack when we go out of town (his is about the size of a standard toddler pillow). When I saw the measurements on the standard size of this one, I thought it was only going to be a bit bigger than his, especially because of the comments saying it's too small. It's actually right between a normal standard size and toddler size (which I should've known by the measurements but I'm bad at spacial quantities). I would like for it to be smaller, but I really wanted to get this brand (I have another of their products that I am very happy with). There are a couple issues I have with this pillow, and they are slightly related, so maybe one and a half issues. First is because it's a weird size, I cannot find a proper pillow protector for it. Which I was hoping I wouldn't need because my other Bucky pillowcase has a liner that contains the buckwheat within the outer case, this doesn't. I don't want to have to empty out the case to wash it (I have done it for my husband and it is not fun). So it's swimming inside a protector that's too big and a pillowcase that's also too big (until I actually stop being lazy and tailor the cases to fit). I saw that Bucky has cases they sell for their pillow and I thought they would have this size, but I couldn't find it... the largest I could find was 20x16 (I think). That was my fault for not reading more carefully before I made my purchase.Overall, I am happy with the pillow. I wish I could take it when I travel, but I am able to sleep really well since I got it. So I guess I get another pillow for travel or I just use this (it IS smaller than my regular pillow, which I have been dragging around with me).

Adjustable
First I will say this pillow is on the hard side, but if you remove 1/3 or so of the buckwheat it makes it more adjustable to your head! I add a small lightweight pillow lay my face on!

Sleep well!
This is the perfect size! The smaller one is too small. Just get the larger one for a little more money. It is perfect for back and side sleepers. I have been using contour pillows that have memory foam & keep going flat. This pillow adjusts to any shape you want. More under neck for me. Itβs great!

Never looked back after sleeping on a Bucky Pillow.
This is not my first Bucky pillow. The two previous ones were smaller.I lost one when I left it behind in a hotel. The second one I lost recently when my cat peed on the bed and got the pillow. I wasn't sure if it was possible to wash it, so I bought a new one.I bought the larger version.Until it arrived I had to sleep with a regular pillow. Man, that was so uncomfortable. When I put my head on a Bucky pillow it doesn't start sinking into the fluff. I don't have to constantly jam it into shape. It cradles my head and my neck, keeping me comfortable through the night.I get my best sleep on a Bucky pillow.I hope they still have them when I'm a 120. :)

Great quality pillow
Great quality pillow, I like the solid consistent support it has, never wearing down or getting soft in the middle like normal pillows. It could kind of use one or even two extra pounds of buckwheat(assuming there's 5 in in?) it's just a tad shallow for my liking and the buckwheat shifts as you lay on it. Filling the case just a bit more might keep the buckwheat in place better.

I love how firm it is
Pillow is smaller then I thought (is possible I misread the dimensions). I added 1 more lbs. Of buckwheat for a firmer pillow. I love how firm it is, but almost wish it had 1" of memory foam to soften the shells
