Since I removed it easily enough without a tool, I figured I could easily stretch it by hand to reattach (and saw repairs video doing it by hand). Well, I came close several times but eventually gave up after many, many failed efforts and my first blood blister from grabbing wire. This handy spring expansion tool allowed me to do it in less than 5 minutes. I did buy the upgraded model (black and yellow), which has a wider opening and seemed to fit the hooks fine, based on previous reviewes. It worked great.
