Very good purchase
Bought this to set up some lighting in my shed. Fairly straightforward to fit it all together although the instructions are tiny and I had to look up most of the terms. Had to replace the batteries on the wife’s mobility scooter so the old ones will be useful just for lights. So far so good, it all seems to be working OK after a couple of weeks, battery staying charged enough for lights. Made a wooden frame to attach the quite sturdy panel to the side of the shed (not much direct sunlight this time of year but will be in a few weeks time) and put the controller inside. The lead was a bit short so extended it using some 13 amp twin and earth electrical cable which seems to work alright. Overall a good buy for the price and useful as my first foray into a solar power project and my led light strips work fine, who knows I may be expanding it soon!

Easy to set up totally suitable for my purpose.
I bought this solar panel to trickle charge a car battery in the shed. I use the battery for a 12v lighting system and a small inverter as I have no mains power in there. Its May at the moment and we do have a reasonable amount of sun but I have to say the panel is doing an excellent job of keeping the battery topped up. The panel doesn't have much in the way of mounting brackets, there are simply four holes in the inner surround of metal. It was a bit fiddly but with use of some suitable nuts and bolts I fed the bolts through the holes in the surround, through the wall of the wooded shed and put washers and nuts on the inside. I then put a bead of sealant around the panel to stop the rain dripping down the back. Although fairly generous the leads from the panel to the power controller were not long enough for me so I ended up extending them which is straightforward enough just ensure you get the polarity right. Its worth using good quality wire as thick as that supplied (at least) so you don't get too much of a voltage drop. The power controller isn't the best or the most complex but I found the default settings work fine for my purpose, just follow the instructions to connect everything in the correct order. You can alter the charge voltage and cutout voltage if you wish. The screw fittings for wires on the controller are a little unconvincing but seem OK in practice. At the price point I'm pleased with this panel and I now have exactly the setup I wanted in my shed.

Size discrepancy.
Very good, works well even in overcast conditions. However, there is an error in the description. The size is 470x395x20mm, not as stated.

Great piece of kit - does exactly what we need it to do
Great bit of kit. Bought to trickle feed/trickle charge the leisure battery (which powers the sink tap and the internal lights) in our horse truck. It is lightweight, but sturdy. We store it behind the drivers seat, and then, when parked, position it on the dashboard. The panel can be permanently fixed, but for us that wouldn't work and we like the flexibility of being able to put it into different positions in the cab to catch as much sun as possible (we added a long wire so that we are able to do this). It does an excellent job of keeping our battery topped up, meaning we dont have to take the battery home to charge it . The control unit is great cos allows you to monitor the charge level in your battery, and has 2 USB ports, so is great for charging your phone

Nice budget solar system
Bought about three weeks ago, seems to keep battery charged and stable input. Easy to install i used two L shaped brackets to mount the panel to the shed roof. controller is easy to set up, just make sure you connect the cables in the correct order on first fitting as you can damage the unit if incorrect. I have this system powering my garden string lamps and i like the inbuilt timer function that lets me turn the lights on auto at dusk for an interval i choose, 1 hour---8 hour, happy with purchase.

Not bad for the money but get something a bit better
Easy to connect, works okay, however the instruction manual is absolutely useless and after a few days the battery icon is flashing and the manual doesn’t explain the problem, there’s also no way to contact the seller Save up a bit more money and get something a bit better

mixed experience - first unit failed
Bought a second unit and this seems to be working so far. I tried another because I couldn't see a decent competitor at this price point and most people were pleased with it. I do wish someone would make a unit with two output circuits to charge dual leisure batteries. It is really not a good idea to parallel up dissimilar batteries and try to trickle charge them with a single unit The first one of these that I bought failed after 2 week - not charging. Tried it an another battery at 12.3V - ie about 50% discharged - unit still not charging. suspect it was actually discharging ( slowly ) the leisure battery which I had it connected to. checked all contacts etc etc . Solar volts and battery volts correct on pin ins to controller. Returned it to Amazon. The cable from the panel to the control box is too short and can’t be changed. I would like to see 2m at least of heavier gauge cabling to keep the voltage drop the same. On the output side of the control box, again the cables provided are too short but you can use heavier gauge into the screw terminals.

Very good
A good little solar panel, that does what it said it would. I have it charging a 12v car battery for electric fencing for my pony, to save me lugging it across the field and home to charge up. So far so good, keeping the battery charged. The instructions for its use are a bit nondescript, I went on to you-tube to work out how the wee wires went in and how the controller works.
