Gilbert Gooney Bird Of Paradise Bamboo Wind Chime Hand-Tuned Wood Bells Outdoors

Bought this for my mom and she loves it! It's big and it's unique. The craftsmanship is good but could be fragile in a windy area. My mom won't even hang it outside because she doesn't want anything to happen to it. She has it hanging in her living room right in front of the big front window. It put a huge smile on my moms face and that makes it one of my best purchases from Amazon..ever :)

I absolutely love this wind chime. I saw one on the back of a boat in the San Diego Harbor, it's little head bobbing in the breeze and turning. I was soo happy to find it here on Amazon. I have it hanging in my backyard and every time I look at it I smile. I love the 'clunky' sound of bamboo at the beach. It has survived a huge storm that whipped it around for 2 days in the biggest storm we have had in a while and it looks exactly the same as the day I hung it up. Highly recommend

The real thing has little relationship to that pictured on the web site. The head droops, and it seems rather fragile and insubstantial. It's not viable for anyone who wants a pleasing a long-lasting wind chime.When I saw it on the site, I thought it was whimsical, but, given all of the above, any whimsy is quickly lost and one is left with a flimsy and even ugly chime.

The instructions for setup were poorly printed and near impossible to interpret or read. The string holding the head was confusing to unpack, and I just had to cut it finally. This, however, broke my bird's ability to bob its head, so it just shakes it now instead. Further, the bamboo disc between the trailers seems too small to actually cause frequent enough sound in wind. It's rare that I hear it, which could be good or bad depending on your preference.

bought this as a fathers day gift for dad. I always like the sound of bamboo over the horrible metal windchimes. This one draws your eye to the bird each time. My father really likes it.

Love this guy! The bird is a puppet powered by the wind. The chimes are beautiful. Be very careful when unpacking the strings are all secured together but not tangled. There are instructions included on how to balance the bird to make it animated but they were very badly printed but it wasn't hard to figure out. The chimes were packed very well and they came to me undamaged. Enjoying these wind chimes.

What a great find! This little gooney bird wind chime has a woody cluckle sound and is absolutely adorable. This one will not go out on the porch because I want to keep it forever -- so he will stay indoors by my window to usher in his woody tones on a summer day.
