It is a really good step by step carefully written "How to Do" book
I have had 3 copies of this book and have given it to some of my friends that are interested in this particular method of curing olives. It is the lye method. The author is a relative of mine and I have received his olives for many years as gifts. My adult daughters request more of his olives every year. It is a really good step by step carefully written "How to Do" book!

UNEXPECTED
THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE INTERESTING IF I HAD NOT HAD PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE OF THE CURING OF OLIVES. BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH IT. I HAD ORDERED ANOTHE BOOK I HAD BOUGHT SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AND EVEN IT WAS REVISED AND DID NOT HAVE THE INFORMATION I SOUGHT. I LOST MY EDITION IN A FIRE.I HAD HOPED THIS BOOK WOULD FILL THE VOID, BUT IT DID NOT.

it feels more like a magazine or pamphlet
I bought this as a gift and expected an actual book. However, it feels more like a magazine or pamphlet. In reading the product details again, it does clearly state that it is only 52 pages, but this is easily missed.

Don't buy this
I have found more relevant information using YouTube than this book. There's only one recipe for the marinated part, and I'd say 1/6 of the book is dedicated to his personal stories about his childhood and his high school years, his dog, cat, poem and other superfluous items that don't have anything to do with actually curing olives.A total waste of money IMO. Apparently any idiot can publish a book.

easy to read and follow
I won the book, "Olives From The Tree To The Table" in a raffle. I found the book informative, easy to read and follow. Because I do not have olive trees, I gave the book to my sister and her husband. They have olive trees and will try this method when their olives are ready. I remember my parents using lye to cure their olives.Sandra Jagow

I was disappointed to find out that the only way to cure olives was using Lye.
