At the end of the day, it's citric acid, and works the same as every other one I've used. The brand i used to use nearly doubled in cost, so I found this brand. The main difference is in the size consistency of the particles. This has a much wider variation, and the granule size is overall larger. The previous brand I used had a very consistent size much like table salt. That might matter to you if you're wanting something with a predictable size. I use this for my dishwasher to remove calcium where I don't have a water softener. For that, it's just fine and works exactly the same. Also, this container is better, the bags I used to get had a tendency to split in shipping.
