How long is the shaft?

I have not put a measure to it, but I think it's slightly over three feet. Very short. The entire spear is only about the size of a walking cane.

what type of screws do you recommend to attach the spear head to the handle?

The spear came with two screws for attachment. But first, the shaft needs to be sanded down so it fit the head. It was only rough cut. After some time with a bench sander the shaft and head fit very nicely together. Then PRE-DRILL the screw holes, the screws are to soft and the handle to hard for them to go together without that step.

How long is the blade itself?

I haven’t measured it but it’s over 12”. This is an awesome tool. I love mine. I loved it so much I have a short and long shaft.

what is the diameter of the spear socket? Im looking to make my own spear with a 1" diameter shaft.

The end will need to be tapered, so exact shaft diameter is not super critical. Anyway 1" is what mine came with.
