The media could not be loaded.  This is the 3rd summer I have used the Ultra Cool Portable Cooler at work, in the shop where temps can get real hot. What I do to get a real nice cold breeze is fill the reservoir with a Large bag of Ice to the tap water that I store in Gallon Used Water Containers in the Refrigerator. I do take the cooler home about every 3 weeks to clean the reservoir, fan blades, etc. because the water leaves a white lime deposit. Using Vinegar removes it easily. The only problem I have is difficulty is the initial separation of the back panel to get to where I have to clean it. But that is the only negative thing about this cooler. I do believe maintenance plays a big part as to why this cooler hasn't failed me. I do plan on purchasing this same cooler when this one dies, and I do hope the manufacturer can improve to make the removal of the back panel easier by that time. I really hate to leave bad reviews. I really do. But this product deserves the single star and the review.First, as an evap cooler, it DOES work very well. I live in Montana where summers are hot and dry. As long as you know how swamp coolers work, this will work for you.HOWEVER. There seems to be a design flaw with this thing. The first one I got, leaked like a sieve as soon as I put water into it. Didn't even get a chance to fire it up. It dumped water all over my hardwood floors, so out onto the deck it went to drain and then be packed up to be shipped back. The leak is not one that I can spot, but seems to be somewhere in the general area of where the threaded neck for the drain meets the body of the thing. Tried different things with the cap, but that's not the issue.Second, replacement one came. Tested it for leaks outside before bringing it inside. All was well. Used it a couple times and it performed as I expected it to. Well, except for the oscillating feature not working. It made a horrific clank and did nothing when that button was pressed. But hey, as long as it blows cool air and doesn't ruin my floors ...Cranked it up for only the third time since I received it, as we're experiencing the hottest part of the year here. Noticed that it is, yes, LEAKING from the same spot as the other one. Thankfully it is not pouring as the other one did, but it is still a leak, and for a $300 cooler I'd like to have hoped for some quality control in the building/inspection process. Nope, not here. I'm going to help it limp through these hot few weeks, then tear it apart and slather its leaky areas with some silicone sealant and hope that does the job.Shame, really. Because it does work well. It just doesn't oscillate, and it likes to pee on the rug.

Works as expected I just keep it on low since it seems to spit water out at times. Cools pretty well as long as its not over 100F and has a pretty good Fan motor.

Good little unit. My only bad point is the oscillating part makes a clicking sound. there are 5 of these units at my work and they all seem to do a great job.

This cooler is not worth the money. It's made poorly and leaked when I put water in it. No it was not the drain cap being loose or off! It was not even sealed properly. This was the second one. The original order was left at the wrong address and when I did get it, there were things rattling around inside of the cooler. I've ordered from Amazon for years and this has been by far the worse experience with a product ever!! Check the quality of the products and your vendors more is my advice!

The fan is noisy and I will be surprised if I get two years out of the unit. Hard to roll on carpet when full of water.

Cools nicely. The unit is a little loud, but worth the coolness.

I picked this product because it advertised that it cools 500 sq. feet. When it arrived I find out that it only cools 350 sq. feet, that is more than a third less cooling. When I eventually get the back off I will let you know how it works. Box badly beeten up on arrival, but does not appear to be damaged. Difficult to set up, never got the water level indicator to work. Very shallow loose connection to stand and falls off all the time and is now damaged as a result. Smelly when first used. Would not recommend. Greatly over priced.

Still working out the best way to use it. Freezing pucks of ice and slipping into the water tray extends the time of cold air. So far works well if a little noisy..

Purchased this for an apartment with windows that do not allow for air conditioner venting. This is a really effective way to cool down space without the hassle of venting ... works just great and can be rolled from room to room.

Really enjoying this cooler. Has a large water reservoir so I do not have to keep filling it.Glad I made this purchase.
