Finally, a corer that does its job without breaking.
My first apple corer was from Target, and a pathetic thing that cracked in two places after a few dozen apples. I thought an all-metal unit would be better, so I bought that as a replacement (also from Target), but the entire blade assembly separated from the metal handles after roughly the same number of apples.Given that I had exhausted all two of my Target options for apple dividers, I came online and found this one. I was a bit hesitant, as my first one was plastic too, and, again, that one was terrible. But I can safely say that, after two failed attempts, I’ve finally found one that I’m quite happy with. This Zyliss unit has gone through a couple hundred apples (so far – I eat a ton of apples), and still works as great as on day one. It’s also larger than many other units, so I can cut up normal-sized apples, not just the “lunchbox size” ones. The one downside is the “coring” aspect. Of the three corers I’ve used, this one has the smallest diameter. It’s not a big deal, but I find that I almost always run into one seed, which either gets pushed out of the way or sliced up. Some people may prefer this, as this means they get “more apple” to eat. I’d rather err on the side of “less core”, but that’s just me.

Great apple slicer
So far this apple slicer has held up well. It is a hard plastic shell, and the metal blades are nice and sharp. Very large apples will not fit (like the giant honey crisp), but I think that's typical with any apple slicer. This seems to be the same size as every other one I've ever seen. I've run it through the dishwasher multiple times with no signs of dulling. The handles are ergonomic and easy to grasp. So far it has done everything it should! Also a great value.Update: I've had this over a year now and it still works as well as the first time I tried it. I use this several times a week. Can't beat the value and quality! It's been in the dishwasher 100+ times and is still sharp as ever!

Great quality apple cutter.
I've used several other apple cutters in the past and this one seems to be very well made. The plastic is nice to grip and the blades are solid. In terms of functionality, this works the same as any other apple cutter you find in the market. It cuts through any apple or apple-like fruits and splits them into 8 even slices. The circular cutout for the core is big enough to allow for some error if you have oddly shaped fruit. This will also get caught on the skin once it's pushed to the bottom, but this is true for all apple cutters unless you have an elevated design where the blade can go past the fruit. It's usually not a big deal because you can just rip the pieces apart or peel a bit of the skin on the bottom of the fruit before using this.

Nice and Sharp
Not much to say about this. The metal blades are quite sharp. The green handles are large and easy to grip. So far it has cleaned up well; no rust. I wash mine by hand. The deep green makes it attractive enough to leave out on a counter but I keep mine in a cupboard. In my opinion, at ~$10 it might be a couple dollars more expensive than it needs to be. I guess that pays for the more stylish design. I've seen cheaper ones at the grocery store, but they looked cheaper heheh :)I've uploaded a couple photos to show the top and side views.

Excellent Apple Slicer
My last apple slicer rusted over time; this one should hold up as it is made of stainless steel. So far, I really like it; sturdy and easy-to-use! Zyliss makes excellent products.

Very sharp and sturdy.
I bought this to replace a cheap one (another brand) that broke. The old one was dull and I had to work really hard to cut through an apple. It was also a pretty flimsy plastic construction, so it always felt like the handles would break off before the blades went through the apple. Of course, eventually, that's exactly what happened. The Zyliss cutter works great. It is made of very sturdy plastic--the handles don't give at all when cutting/coring an apple. The blades are really sharp and slice right through. I realize it's a simple product, but it works great...just like it's supposed to work.

I really like the configuration of the handles
Replaced an old apple slicer that my wife has been using since she was a child. The paint was peeling on that ancient one, so we ordered this to replace it. It works very well! Just watch the blades, they are sharp! and pay close attention when cleaning it, there are a few small crevices where the blades meet that require just a little extra attention to be sure all of the apple matter get's removed. That said, I still give it 5 stars. I really like the configuration of the handles.

strength issue
I was excited when I received the slicer thinking it would end my frustration when eating apples (biting with upper dentures & cutting with arthritic hands). To my dismay I did not have the strength to force the slicer through the apple. Not the fault of the divider, just keep in mind if purchasing for younger child or older persons' use. My adult son used it without a problem.

good product
Very good quality product. The blades are nice and sharp, also they are a little bit lower than the handle so you can cut all the way through the apple.

Ok
Works good overall. My only complaint is that I can't get it to go all the way through the apple. I have to turn the apple over and sort of pull the slices out to get it apart.

Wonderful! 1 small bug not worth points off
As others have mentioned, this product is very sharp. cuts through apples easily. the blades stick out a bit at the bottom though, which while it does the desired job well, is a bit of a hassle when storing... the blades may be dulled or cut something. I wish it came with a molded storage case.I really Love that this is dishwasher safe. I also find that the reviewed that said things get stuck in the cracks was wrong - or at least, never tried cleaning it with running water. Just rinse it as soon as you use it, or of course things will stick as the apple's juices dry.Edit: I forgot to add, it's VERY sturdy, no sloppy welding, and the blades are evenly placed...

Classic design, executed flawlessly.
It's hard to improve on a classic design and the small touches - like large side handles - make this an excellent choice. The blades are sharp to slide through apples with ease and they extend just enough beyond the plastic collar to be sure to cut right through the whole apple. A great value that easy to recommend.
