Kindergarten must have
I used this book for my observation lesson when teaching kindergarten about 3D shapes. It is a cute story about a boy playing spaceships, and it describes different characteristics of the 3D shapes. My students loved it!

Creates an ok story for learning 3D shapes
I've given this four stars as it's one of the few books dedicated to making a story of 3D shapes. And it doesn't do a bad job. It's not the most captivating story but enough thAt the children will sit through it every now and again. I worried slightly that's it makes space into a scary space with poison gas, monsters etc (which the shapes help to ward off) but my son aged 4 seems to be ok with it.

Great book!
This is one of the best Stuart Murphy books - my 3 year old is excited by the story and the constant 'dangers' faced by Captain Invincible, and loves getting me to read it to him. As a result, he knows the shapes - the cone, cube, pyrimid etc. Great learning book!!

Fun book!
I did a lesson plan with this book for one of my classes. They all loved the book and activity in the back of the book. This is a great resource when teaching kids about 3D shapes. The back of the book has great resources for a lesson plan.
