much appreciated gift
My son is a body building enthusiast but needed some warnings; this book bares all and gives good guidance and keeps body builders from making choices that will damage their health and ultimately their longevity. A very accessible read, my son has really enjoyed it and loved telling us all the gory details.

Juice rules!
Great little romp through the world of pro bodybuilding, the juicer's paradise, with some interesting insights into the characters (and flaws) of some of the major players in the Nineties, and into the history of the Olympia. I particularly liked the bits about Dorian Yates (who actually seems quite a nice bloke) and Ronnie Coleman (so bulked up he gets puffed walking along the road). But the reliance on chemicals had its downside, not least the premature deaths of several top competitors. A great read for anyone interested in the variety of the human experience, whether you like bodybuilding or not.

An honest insight into the mad world of competitive bodybuilding.
Being a bodybuilder for the past thirty years I found this book very honest and riveting giving a true insight into the crazy world I consider normal. If your a bodybuilder or just have a casual interest in the sport then this is a must read.

A most muscular read!
Hotten kicks off his book with the full, detailed and shocking story of the drug related death of Andreas Munzer, at that time ranked in the top six of the world's best bodybuilders. The author finds himself captivated by the sport and it's larger than life characters. He delves deeper into the showy and murky underbelly of the most misunderstood sport. This book is a must for all bodybuilding fans as it features all of the primary movers and shakers from the present day, right back to the original strongmen such as Eugene Sandow. I was simply unable to put this book down! The demise and downfall of some of the best bodybuilders in the business, should serve as a dire warning to anyone considering using steroids.

Great in-depth book into the world of bodybuilding
A great book into the crazy world of bodybuilding. The book is excellently detailed but sometimes jumps around which makes some parts hard to fully understand without rereading the preceding paragraphs. Overall an excellent read though. It makes us respect the dedication and motivation that bodybuilders put into their careers.
