I just installed the second one of these. I left the first one in six months, approximately 30,000 gallons. The pressure had started to drop; however, there was no chlorine odor or taste. I changed the second filter after four months - approximately 20,000 gallons. There was no chlorine odor or taste, and the pressure had not dropped. My conclusion is that these purify the water, but will plug if your water contains sediment. If you're using this on a water system with high levels of sediment, you should consider installing a sediment filter in the line before this carbon filter.

I have been using these filters for 17 years and never had a failure. I change them approximately once per year depending on the water quality that comes into our house. When I start to see a residue ring in our toilets, I change the filter.

This water filter worked really well for about a month before it filled up with sediment, do not use this with a system to filter out sediment unless you want to empty it out/replace it frequently.The inside is what you'd expect, a little less than an inch in diameter and does a great job of filtering out any odd tastes...the water tasted great.

These work just fine and do well in my whole house filter.

I've found this OEM filter to be the best value and have the best filtration with the min of water pressure loss. I've used this filter now for 6 years and will not go to the other non-OEM filters again
