Holds my phone well. Attaches to my air vent easily and securely. Easy to reposition from one vent to another. The rubber fingers are flexible but grip well enough to hold securely. No damage to the vent blades either . I drive a Toyota Prius. I use the wide spacing as seen on the product picture. I place the metal plate inside of my protective phone case (about 1/8 inch thick). The magnet is strong enough to hold the phone securely on bumpy roads but releases easily from the magnet when I pull the phone away. It does NOT pull the magnet from the vent. I can navigate my iPhone's various screens without jarring it loose from the magnet. Obviously the phone placed over the air vent partially blocks air flow and the temperature of the air will heat/cool the phone accordingly. Pronged exposure of your phone to high vent temperatures could cause your phone to shutdown or malfunction. Car vent temperatures can exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Note: The strength of the magnet will be stronger if the metal adhesive plate is attached directly to the exterior surface of phone without a case. I cannot evaluate the holding and release strength for that configuration. I would imagine the magnetic holding force to be greater. Included is a picture of the iPhone case I use (purchased at Amazon) so you can see the thickness of the case. Again, I place my metal plate INSIDE the case. The magnet still holds great!

This is really nice. It is so nice to have a place for the phone. I don't have to fish around in my purse to find it. Very strong magnet and holds my iphone 5 with case very well. The flat disk fits between the phone and case. When you position the holder on the air conditioner vent, there are 2 ways to put it on. The back is split into 4 quarters with the spaces wider if you turn it one way verses spaces narrower if you turn it a quarter turn the other way - I am guessing to accommodate for thicker verses thinner vent slats.Now, I must warn you as the magnet is very strong - when you remove your phone DO NOT PULL IT AWAY FROM THE MAGNET as it will pull the slat out of the vent and possibly break it - did that on my new Corvette. Instead, slide the phone off to the side with sort of a twisting motion to release the magnet. I purchased this after having had an accident - the phone was in my purse and the purse went flying off the passenger seat and the phone flew out and no one could find it and due to a slight injury, I was afraid to move to try to find it. I don't know if this magnet would hold in an accident and I won't test it on purpose, but it's better than putting it in the drink holder and certainly safer.

I have a Scion XB, and this product does not fit the air vents (the 'front-most' plastic ribs are way too thick, and the thinner ribs are too recessed to be usable). HOWEVER, it turns out that this product fits perfectly on the little door/cover to the center storage compartment below the temp/ac gauges. The downside (I guess) is that the phone is no longer high up (better line of sight?), but the truth is that this position is actually easier to reach and more comfortable to use. SEE PHOTOS. So, I'm very happy with the solution, and with the price. The grip tabs (on the back of the unit) are strong and easy to reposition if need be. The magnet in front is super strong and really holds the phone.

The listing for this item is confusing, since it has both the air vent mount, which is magnetic and the CD mount, which is not. They should be split into separate product listings. This review is for the air vent mount. I've tried a few different mount but haven't been happy with any of them. Some didn't provide the best visibility of the phone. Other's didn't hold the phone securely. I have a Galaxy S5. This mount is perfect. A thin metal plate fits between the phone and case. You don't even know it's there. The mount fits snugly on the air vent louvers with minimal interference. I wasn't sure it would hold security (either to the vent or the phone), but it works great. I can run the coiled charging cable to the phone while it's on the mount, which adds even more pressure to pull the phone, yet it still holds securely, even through bumps. Visibility is perfect and it's literally no effort to place or remove the phone on the mount. It's the perfect solution for me.

This is a nice product and works well to hold phone in place in car (with metal plate between phone/case)....BUT, there are 2 ways to attach thin metal plate to back of phone: 1) slide plate between case and phone (if you have a case) OR 2) attach "self sticking" plate to back of phone (if you don't have a case). I bought several of these. On all of the ones I bought, the self-sticking backing just doesn't work. Not sure if the adhesive dried out or just was flawed from start, but -to me- only works if you have a case. Was going to give it 2 stars but I have a case and works for my application.Dec 15, 2015 Update: Company got back to me very quickly with apologies and offered a free replacement, which works as advertised. Excellent customer service: this product now deserves a 4 star IMO.

The magnet is good but the grip that fixes in air vent is bad... The holder falls out of grip very easily making your mobile prone to damages...
