Lutz 21001 15-in-1 Ratchet Screwdriver, Blue

I purchased this screwdriver roughly a year ago and I just came back to purchase a second one for a Christmas gift. This is the PERFECT set to buy and keep in your truck or car, or keep in the upstairs of your house so it is always available. If it has a standard screw on it that needs loosened or tightened you can count on this screwdriver having a bit for it and that bit will always be easy to find because it is in the handle of the screwdriver. It is one tool that does many different jobs so you can take one tool instead of a whole tool case. My wife does not comment on many things but she has told me how convenient it is to have this screwdriver around on more than one occasion and that is saying a lot. The construction feels solid and the ratchet can be turned on and off. The ratchet is very strong and has a good positive feel to it.

The most versatile, convenient and useful screwdriver I have ever owned. So many bits and they stay in the base with no issues. I wish the bits were magnetic but that is my only want. The ratcheting and ergonomics are fantastic

When I moved out of the house my parents gave me a cute screw driver similar to this and made by a hardware store. Being young and stupid I did not take good care of it (I lost most of the bits). On a whim I got on Amazon to see if it was still made that and although it is not the same it is really great. I can put this in the kitchen drawer and save myself a trip to the garage anytime I just need to do something little around the house. It seems very sturdy and the bits are not cheap so they don't slip on screw heads. I am very happy with this little purchase and will be buying one for each of my children when they head off to college.

Seriously, this thing is amazing. I was looking for a replacement for a similar screwdriver that I'd had for years that finally lost the good fight when someone used it as a shovel. As most of you know, the loss of something as precious as the perfect screwdriver is pretty devastating, however, this screwdriver is so great that I don't even feel guilty for cheating on my poor old screwdriver with this one. That old one didn't ratchet and the little bits weren't secured as well. The only improvements I would ever make for this thing would be to have a magnet in the arm so the bits are all magnetized and for the handle to be a bit more comfortable to grip--those thin hard plastic edges are not kind. I guess I would like to merge my old one with this one in that respect. Otherwise, this thing is great. I love it. I am buying one for everyone I know for Christmas. This screwdriver is great for the price. The screwdriver looks exactly like the picture. The bottom is made entirely of plastic, because of the bits fitting inside the bottom of the screwdriver it doesn't feel too light. It's not heavy either it has a very balanced weight. It has 3 options for using it; left ratcheting, right ratcheting, and a standard screwdriver with no ratcheting option. Some of the bits it came with weren't useful to me but I just switched it out with a different double sided bit I had, so it's compatible with other standard bits. The only things I don't like about the screwdriver is that the middle isn't made with a better gripping material, other than that I can't complain, it does everything its suppose to and the bits are durable. Overall I am very satisfied with the screwdriver.

I have always used Klein multi drivers exclusively, but lately I've needed phillips #3 bits on hand a lot, and no Klein driver has #3 phillips bits in it. This Lutz driver gets great reviews, both on Amazon and other tool websites. I figured I would give it a shot and it could at least be put in a kitchen drawer as a home use driver. This thing is great! The handle is very clever that it has the bit storage, and yet is a comfortable and useful handle, all without being too big or bulky. I was hesitant about the ratchet mechanism - usually I prefer drivers not to have the ratchet feature since it can be fragile and just make the screwdriver bulky. Not the case here! The ratchet mechanism is all metal, and the driver isn't too big and bulky. The selection of bits are great. This is a well-engineered tool. I've bought many a multi-driver where the back pops off to reveal its bit storage - those things always break and are very fragile. The bit storage on this driver looks very durable.

I bought a new/old wooden boat 20 years ago. The boat was then roughly 70 years old and needed a lot of work. Refastening all the planking required new silicon bronze screws and I chose square heads to prevent camming out. This was the screwdriver I bought to handle them, so I've used this driver probably thousands of times. I've bought five or six over the years to give to my children and fill out took boxes at my boat, home, and at the farm. It's a superbly designed multi-tip ratcheting screwdriver and it confounds me that Wirecutter has neglected it (I've written them). The handle tip holding mechanism is the best I've seen because it can't be lost, the ratcheting mechanism works flawlessly, and the handle is comfortable in the hand. It looks flimsy but isn't. I'm still using the first I bought all those years ago, as well as now several others.

good price for screw driver set, would have preferred if it was in a storage package

Very good tool...handle is a touch short making it more difficult to grasp properly...
