Micro sized but big fun
I am a huge Micro Machines collector from way back. Micro Machines are tiny toys, scale miniatures that were made by the Galoob company in the 1980's to when the company closed in 1998. Their toys are still huge with collectors and there are still some unopened toys out there. The little packs of vehicles can easily sell for over $50, and some playsets can sell for $200. This set is from the highly collectible military Battle Zones series, it features an Asian river delta environment, with a river going through two high ground points. There is an underground bunker with firing slits, a pagoda style building that falls apart as if exploded at the touch of a button, rotating launcher with firing missile, an ammo depot, stairs running up the hillside, fold down ramp, a bridge, and an underground cave you can drive in. The whole playset can be split to make a different environment, a jungle beachhead for landing craft. A PT boat is included, about 2" long. The entire playset is about 12" long. Many collectors buy the playsets to display their miniature vehicles or to take pictures on them. There are tons of Micro Machines vehicles to buy as accessories, or you can buy a bunch of different playsets and build a big battlefield. Their slogan was "Think Big, Play Small".
