Ti Ultra Pen - The Ultimate 3-in-1 Titanium Pen (Machined Raw)

this is literally the most amazing multi purpose pen i’ve ever seen or owned. i have bought this pen 6 or 7 times. i kept two for myself (one of each) and gifted the rest of them to friends and family. the pen is very solid but admittedly can be too heavy for me to write with for excessively long periods of time. however, it wasn’t heavy enough to keep me from taking notes during my classes. the pen comes with a titanium nib which i prefer over steel and gold nibs because of the feedback (not scratchy) and the flexibility of the nib. i also switch to the roller ball grip section when i am traveling because ink can get inconveniently messy on the road. it literally takes almost any refill and adapts to all the different needs that come up throughout life. its also such a beautiful gift to give to people who can appreciate it. yes, it’s expensive, but you can sometimes buy it on sale, or gently used/pre owned for a bit cheaper. also, it comes with so many extra accessories, and their customer services has been amazing over the years. any time i had an issue, they’d fix it immediately or walk me through troubleshooting steps without hesitation. i am a fan for life. this was my first time ordering it on amazon and i received a different item than the one i ordered and had to send it back. i’d recommend purchasing directly from their website because it’s cheaper, maybe less room for error? and it go on sale on their website sometimes. all in all. this company is amazing, their products are reliable, durable, and will last you a lifetime. if it doesn’t, they back up all their products with a lifetime warranty. i hope to one day collect all their products… but that’s probably just a pipe dream.

I have yet to use the pen, but the tube that housed the rollerball/ballpoint adapter was FAR too small for the piece. I tried various methods of trying to extract the standard pen tip to no avail. In my efforts I ended up scratching the interior of the standard pen tip. I had to resolve to cracking and breaking open the tube with pliers. Even when I exposed half of the tip and tried to pull the tip out it wouldn't budge at all. I, then again, slightly scratched the threads. I wasn't able to retrieve the standard pen tip until fully destroying the plastic tubing. Nearly cutting myself. This size problem renders the tube useless. I now have nothing to store the fountain tip in, and negatively affected the standard tip in the process. Extremely poor design for such an expensive pen. Expected more. Expected better.

Bought for the fountain pen capability. I actually started a return because there is a tamper resistant seal that is broken. The seal has “if seal is broken remove from inventory”. I decided to look at the pen and it appears and functions perfectly. It writes great and I’ve decided to keep it. I like it plenty…however I don’t know why the seal was compromised.

The pen has a very nice weight to it. It is interchangeable between the two main types as they screw on and create a water tight seal. The cap screws on as well. Included is a spare #6 bock nib unit, some spare rubber seals, a felt like pocket case and a tube which allows you to store either tip securely and safely. The writing is sharp. Not too much pressure needed at all to create a nice line. My plan is to use this pen as my EDC. I am going to try and pair it with a Dango wallet and change out the Dango titanium pen and this pen in the P02 wallet. While the BigiDesign Ti Pen is a hefty price, it is a superior pen for EDC. The fact that I can put just about any insert into it makes it the best survival pen I have seen. Also, the bottom of the titanium pen is flat. This is amazing, because it will stand very well in the Dango EDC tray/organizer without slumping over. I tried changing out the inserts with some that I had handy, and they all fit wonderfully. They did a great job creating a system, so if you run across a pen that has an insert, you can just take its insert and use it in the titanium pen. This is definitely a luxury item, but very versatile.

I have a lot of pens. I have even more fountain pens. Somehow this pen manages to be the best of both my standard and fountain pens. The stonewashing makes for the best in-hand feel I’ve ever experienced, and the extra width of the section give you enough of that surface to have a pretty relaxed grip. Seriously this thing is like a spa for your hand.

Pros: - Materials and craftsmanship is top notch - The titanium nib writes like a dream Cons: - The main selling point – that you can interchange the fountain pen nib with a ballpoint or rollerball point – isn’t very practical. You have to tote whichever piece you’re not using around with you if you want to be able to change it whenever you’d like; you might as well just carry two pens - Ink gets stuck in the ribs of the section, which drives me nuts I’m giving this pen four stars because it’s a beautiful piece of art even if it is too smart for its own good. I feel like Big Idea Designs should’ve made this a stand-alone fountain pen, ditched the ballpoint piece, and lowered the price.

Ti Ultra Pen is well designed and manufactured. The package comes with fountain pen nibs, one steel and one titanium (both fine size) and one regular pen refill. The switch between fountain pen and regular pen is easy and fun. Great product!

Genius. I have other pens but this pen rules them all!
