It is a slab of steel.....shaped just right for the purpose. My motorcycle helmet has a quick release instead of a "D" ring strap and I had no way to lock it to the bike. Then I saw this item and it is just perfect for the job! Why didn't I think of this! The price is really cheap for keeping my helmet from getting stolen!

Works great! The helmet I bought has a quick release style buckle and I needed these in order to use a helmet lock. They fit perfectly! Plus it's a two pack so I can use one for another helmet, give it to a friend or save it in case I lose one. It was a great price and fast shipping.

Made this purchase because I used these on one of my older motorcycles. However, I'm having a hard time making good use of them on my new bikes. Still, I don't regret making the purchase just yet.

Solid metal. Great price. Some helmets might require that you grind the piece to allow it to fit in the ratchet sleeve. For me, I needed just touch of grinding along one of the long edges to allow it to fit in a Shoei NeoTec 3 buckle. After grinding 1mm off and then sanding the edge, perfect and smooth fit.

I have a Kawasaki Versys 1000. And whoever decided where to put the helmet lock on that motorcycle should be fired. There’s no way to get your helmet on there and even if you did, you couldn’t put the key in the lock to unlock it to get your helmet off. So this thing came in really handy and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I have a show RF 1400 and this slips through the ring and allows the helmet to hang on the motorcycle. I could highly recommend this. And there are two of them in the package.

I bought my first handlebar lock about a year ago. It was always difficult to hook my helmet on. This D ring with the extended tab makes it so much simpler. If you have a helmet lock regardless of where it is, this will make it easier for you to lock your helmet up.

Does not fit LS2 helmets, it's too wide, I plan to grind it down to fit. But it definitely will not fit an LS2 helmet as is.

Originally too wide to fit in the ratchet buckle of the Shoei Neotec 3. I was able to grind the sides down a bit and it will fit with some grinding. The similarly listed chrome ones do not, even with so.e grinding, they are too thick.

1 of 2 of the units was poorly coated and pitted. International order, so I paid Amazon for shipping a poor quality item with the only option to return and re-order with freight at my expense!

Works as intended no complaints

This helmet strap lock is just the right thickness for my Shoei helmet. The black enamel coating may also help with the ease of inserting in under the buckle clasp. I had ordered another brand which worked fine on my LS2 helmet but needed to be ground much flatter for the Shoei as the steel was too thick. The other dimensions were fine. This device and others like it will not stop someone who is determined to steal your helmet, but is more than enough to deter opportunistic loss. For my Triumph, I connect it to a keyed lock bolted to the bike’s rear shock, but you can also use an appropriate cable lock.
