Exactly what I wanted.
It’s light, it’s tough, it’s not too big but it holds a good volume of tea/coffee, and it’s still hot at the end of a long, cold day on the hills.

Lightweight and Keeps your tea hot
I bought this from Amazon Warehouse as a return for fifteen quid. What I didn't know until it arrived is that it had a dirty great dent on the bottom. You obviously take your chances sometimes buying from warehouse. It does make me wonder about it's long term durability though. I'd love to know how the dent happened! However, regarding the functionality, it's great. I bought it for the mountains in winter and for surf trips, and the drink stays hot for ages. Also, the pouring lid is dribble free. I've got the black one, and the finish is already shabby after a few days use. If I was paying full price I'd buy the unpainted version for sure.

Improvements at a price...
I originally purchased the Sigg HnC in stainless with the cup on the bottom.I criticised the design of this flask and some of these problems have been addressed with this model. It now has a wider opening, so you can put in ice cubes straight from the freezer, also the cup has been moved back to the top so dirt is not picked up from the base as with the old model. However, this flask is noticeably more expensive and lighter, Sigg claims this Loss of weight is due to a new manufacturing process. I note the ribbing on the side does aid grip, but again is this to support a thinner wall of metal?Whether this will compromise the overall strength and durability remains to be seen. Also the rubber base has been removed, which I personally feel is a mistake.Whether this new flask performs better than the old remains to be seen,I will update this review after some further testing.

Hard to choose what size!
The sturdiness and design of this flask are fantastic; a simple screw top rather than buttons or flippers that will fail eventually and are difficult to clean, and a finish that will surely get scratched and dented but will only add to its charm. What I really struggled with was knowing what size to go for! A 1L+ flask would usually be too bulky and heavy to consider for day trips, but because Sigg have made these so light, it’s now a serious option compared to the 750ml (which in turn feels like a slim 500ml flask).I ordered this one, then the 750ml as I worried it would be too big, but struggled to decide which to keep with them both in hand. There is very little between them in terms of size, although the 1.1L it is that bit heavier.Ultimately it came down to cup size: if you’re used to drinking mugs of tea (~240ml), the 1.1L flask comes closer to this at 170ml cup capacity, and you’ll get a bit over 6 cups out of it. The slimmer flask only has a cup capacity of 90mls, nearly half - so you’ll get 8 cups, but they’ll be tiny!I’m a bit of a camel; I go without drinking for ages, but then I want a decent-sized drink. Re-filling a tiny cup would annoy me, and lead to repeated opens which will cool the contents quicker. Decision made. But I wouldn’t hesitate to get a smaller model if space/weight were at a premium.
