My dog can’t have high fat foods — SOLID GOLD is perfect for him. He loves it & it is easily digestible. He gets pancreatitis if he ingests too much fat — this food is perfect for his diet!

The good: My 9 pound rescue is an extremely picky eater who normally hates wet food. He won't eat peanut butter, yogurt, applesauce, cream cheese, or anything else spreadable, and has high anxiety, but I wanted to be able to use lick mats for him as a distraction and to relieve anxiety/boredom. He has also struggled with GI issues and food sensitivities. Magically, he LOVES this food so much. I'm 4 cans in and finally ordered the 6-pack. I am over the moon about this! I'm also THRILLED about how healthy and high quality the ingredients are especially with his medical issues.The bad: First of all, it smells terrible, so be prepared if you are sensitive to smells to plug your nose. Second of all, the price point is pretty high for canned food and there is no discount on the 6-pack. That said, I've shelled out a small fortune on all his other hypoallergenic foods and the foods he refused to eat, so I'm willing to splurge if it keeps me sane. Also, he is small so doesn't eat a ton every day and I supplement this with dry food. If you want, you can definitely use regular kibble with this canned food as a topper to be more economical.The biggest caveat, however, is that his poop has been quite loose. Not diarrhea level, but pretty loose. I don't currently have him on a probiotic other than a daily treat, so I'm going to start sprinkling a probiotic over his food and see if it helps counter some of it. His poop also smells like the food, so that isn't very pleasant either. Overall, I still give it 5 stars because of how much he loves it and it is DEFINITELY worth a trial if you have a picky dog, but there are some disclaimers to keep in mind!

We have used this brand’s dry food for a while since our dog has a sensitive stomach. She has lost some teeth as she has aged so we switched to a combination of canned food mixed with dry. She loves the canned version even more!

Pup liked the food and the smell was acceptable. The problem is that the cost per can is almost $3.00 per can. I can buy 24 cans from Costco for $30.00 for a cost per can of $1.25 a can and pup is happy.

I have been trying to feed my dog a higher grade of dog food and I feel that the Solid Gold brand is just that. My fog loves it and it has good, healthy ingredients.

Ordered 2 cases. 1 case was perfect as usual,2nd case was double wrapped,which was odd till i opend and instantly smelled rotten from can being damaged. All 6 cans were damaged somehow. I had to peel wrappers off to check cans but im tossing them out. These are not returnable, i understand but what about the $24 i'm out?

False advertising a pack of 6, and received only 1 can for 114 SAR!
