OtterBoxAlpha Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 11 Pro Max, Tempered Glass, x2 Scratch Protection Clear

I bought this product a while ago because I believed Otterbox to be a trustworthy brand. Just yesterday, I dropped a small coin on my phone (20p, not from any great height) and was surprised when the screen protector shattered, despite being 'shatterproof'. I contacted Otterbox, who said to contact Amazon, who said I had no option of a refund (so 'hard luck', basically). I'm now in a position where I have to buy another screen protector, with no guarantee that it will actually work.

The product was easy to install however it was the wrong size! with so much screen on the left and right that was not covered by the protective glass, (even when the phone case is put on) the efficacy of the product against cracks and scratches is questionable.

Five stars for fit, function and protection. And cheaper than buying direct from Otterbox. Go figure!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I'm a fan of OtterBox products generally, having reviewed a number of there phone cases, including one for this exact phone, but this is the first time of reviewing one of their screen protectors and I must say that I'm sadly disappointed.It comes in a very smart box and contains the screen protector, cleaning & drying cloths, a frame to ensure alignment of the protector on the phone, dust stickers and instructions and everything is all very well presented.Now I've installed quite a few glass screen protectors, including liquid glue ones, and this should have been a very easy install. I say "should have been" because this wasn't.So this was going on my daughter's brand new Galaxy A40. Even though new, they often have a greasy film on them that is hard to see, so I gave it a thorough clean with the alcohol wipe. Which is bigger than most, but only one included. Even if not new, I always recommend giving the screen a good cleaning, rather than a quick once over. I then dried the screen with the cloth provided. Now the instructions say use the dust stickers, then add the alignment frame, but I prefer to do this the other way round, as less likely to get dust specs on the screen. Having done that, the phone screen was spotless.Now the idea behind these frames is to ensure that the protector is correctly aligned on the phone. As you can hopefully see from the video, I carefully put this on the phone and it initially looked ok. However, one of the bottom corners would not lie down properly on the phone. The screen hadn't aligned properly. Luckily I was able to peal off the protector (twice) and finally get it aligned properly (without the use of the frame). The problem now was that I was left with a lots of bubbles. I grabbed a plastic card I had lying around, there's not one supplied in this kit, and proceeded to try and get rid of them. It took a while and I have one particular bubble, that persistently didn't won't to come out despite my valiant attempts. It's only a small one, but annoying anyway. The protector also struggled to go down easily right on the side edges. Once it was finally on. I gave it a clean and popped the case on.The protector is crystal clear, assuming you have no bubble left, and is nice and smooth to the touch. It certainly hasn't affected the screen sensitivity at all and everything works very well. It's just a shame it was such a pain to put on in the first place.As I said at the beginning of this review, I'm a fan of OtterBox products, but not this one. There are cheaper glass screen protectors available, of the same quality, and they also come with alignment frames. Not the best from OtterBox.I hope you found this review & photos, in this case my 2nd attempt at a video as well, interesting, informative and useful. Had a couple of attempts to get this positioned correctly and meanwhile got a little dust on the underside, but it comes supplied with a dust removal sticker so once it was cleaned and put into position it fitted fine, a few bubbles noticeable which took a while to press out but this could be because of the first failed attempts! Once in place it is practically unnoticeable and the touch screen is not any less sensitive with it in place. A good product when kept clean and fitted right first time, but seems a bit pricey - worth it if you are inclined to be accident prone with your phone though!

Love these. Had a similar thing on my old Galaxy A5 and I'm positive it's stopped my phone from cracking or breaking the front of it when you accidentally drop it. You have to put them on straight and ideally first time but they are the best thing for a screen protector. This one comes with a plastic guide that sits round the outside of the phone so you can put it on in the right position though whether you need to bother is up to you.So I'd recommend these, however thought it was a little expensive compared to my last one hence the 4 star.

Came very well packaged, complete with instructions (if you need). However it is pretty easy to figure out. Very thick glass but the touch display does not get compromised at all. Being a well known brand I’m assured that proper rigorous tests are done to make sure all impact points are protected to the max. Let’s face it you buy these things for that exact reason. Why buy a cheap pointless knock off ! 100% support proper manufacturers like this !

Otterbox cases and screen protectors are generally really good things when it comes to protecting your phone, and this screen protector is excellent. There are the normal challenges when it comes to fitting it without getting air bubbles or dust trapped underneath, but once fitted it seems to give good protection, fits the screen perfectly, and there is little or no lack of sensitivity on the touchscreen. Good.
