Rubie's Deluxe Harry Potter Costume

We love this costume and have already used it for several occasions since it was purchased. We made the original purchase for our son to wear to a Harry Potter themed charity event in September 2016 when he was 7 years old (thin and average height). After reading through other reviews we decided to go with the size large so it would be something he could use for a longer period of time. It was a little long on him, but a couple of safety pins at the bottom made that a simple fix! Otherwise, the size large was a great fit and felt like a wonderful value knowing he'd be able to get plenty of use out of it for a few years to come. It has been worn for trick-or-treating, themed school days, and once again in January 2018 for the second themed charity event. This year at age 8 1/2 he can now wear it without the pins at the bottom and I would guess that he still has plenty of room for at least another year or two. The costume has held up well and we have had no issues at all with the quality. Very pleased with our purchase and I would definitely buy it again when we finally need a larger size!

I bought his for my 5 yr old son just to play dress up in. He LOVES Harry Potter and this robe was perfect! He bounced up and down the second I pulled it from the packaging and wore it all day long, and it totally completed the glasses and wand set I bought for him. He played all day as Harry and I even heard him saying some of the spells from the movies, "lem guardian leviosa" I heard on more than one occasion as he stood over one of our dogs. LOL I suppose he wanted to see our pooch fly around the living room. It's very well made. The material is heavy and stitched well, and the emblem patch on the side is very nice, not a cheap sticker, iron on or pin like I've seen on other robes for sale. This holds up great in the wash and will be perfect for this Halloween as well, it should hold up till Oct (it's May now). I cannot wait!! The robe hits my 5 yr old slightly higher than the boy in the picture, about 3inches above the ankle. the sleeves are a bit long, but then I think they are suppose to be a bit longer as they look like that in the movie on those kids as well. the hood is cute and functional and the material is warm for cooler Halloween nights (if that is your desired use for it).

I'm glad I picked this one out, as it is a heavier, softer robe with a velour feel to it (like those inexpensive kids bathrobes) that can be used well after halloween. I purchased the LARGE for my 10-year old and it's a good fit, a little oversized. He's always complaining of a chill, so I'm sure this will get lots of use before it gets passed down to his little brother. This is the first time he is going to be Harry Potter for Halloween; what took him so long? It only comes with a clip. We had to order the glasses and tie separately and now he wants a grey V neck sweater! If he's cold, he can wear mine! I think, however, this will be more than cozy enough for the evening, with a white shirt under it.

Voldemort, the greatest wizard to have ever graced the Earth (kiss my butt Dumbledore), came to me in a dream. He instructed me to infiltrate Hogwarts School and ‘take care’ of Potter once and for all. I was like, avada kedavra motherfr, let’s do this. I awoke in a cold sweat, and with a quick ‘Lumos!’ my phone was on, and I loaded up Amazon. That cat-brained fool McGonagall had made a fatal mistake, and sold the right to reproduce the Griffindor robe to Rubies Costume Company! I quickly placed my order, and just two business days later, my robe was here. I set off for King’s Cross station, the dark mark I had drawn on my arm tingling with magical anticipation, or perhaps an allergic reaction. As I was entering the concourse, I saw two large men with identical red hair. Weasleys! What an unexpected bonus. I followed them into McDonalds and whipped out my wand. Wingardium Leviosa! I yelled, causing one Weasley to drop his chicken nuggets all over the floor. Victory! I ran back towards the platforms and made my way to 9 3/4. Some disgusting muggles were taking pictures, so I was forced to wait to get on the train. I didn’t want to blow my cover. But the Weasley twins were approaching with angry looks on their faces, and I could wait no longer… I set off at a fast pace and ran into the wall! The next thing I knew, I was in a hospital wing. My vision was blurry, I could make out a vague figure ahead of me. "Madam Pomfrey?" I enquired. Doctor Patel sighed and shook his head. I later discovered that after slamming into the wall I had broken my nose and fractured my right eye socket. The Weasleys then broke two of my ribs, and I was promptly taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. It was the day the magic died. I am so alone in this world. The robe is great though, good quality, the crest is embroidered. I highly recommend.

INCREDIBLE QUALITY!!!! This is made of a thick warm felt, and the patch is indeed embroidered! The clasps appear just fine, although I know others complained they were cheap and break easily, I assume they will probably break throughout my son's day at school... I wish the entire robe was lined with the red fabric (it is actually just a 3" wide strip of red fabric along either edge, and of course lining the hood). The local Halloween stores wanted $30 for the cheaper version, and even after shipping this was only about $28 for me. My main concern was warmth for my son while Trick-or-Treating, and I think layered with the long sleeved white shirt and a gray sweater (from home, not included) this should keep him warm in Michigan. That being said, I think it would be miserably hot if we lived in Florida. It's about as heavy as a decent sweatshirt. My son is pretty tall for 9, wears a 14Husky usually, this fit him pretty good, just barely closes in the front.

Thought for sure I would get the imposter, (Murpheys law rarely escapes me). I was happy to see it was just as described. The clasp is flimsy. I broke it trying to figure it out, (instructions would have been helpful- but superglue saved the day), but my daughter loves it. It was warm on Halloween and I am very pleased. Pricey- but at least it was the true deluxe, and the rushed shipping didn't help my wallet- but that's not their fault... The seams are not clean, the quality could be better for the price, but I ordered at a bad time and am thankful I got the better of the 2 that were being sold as the same, (the imposter I've read was a flat out rip-off). I researched the manufacture # to the sellers descriptions and crossed my fingers.. Embroidered crest was not helpful, as they all said that... It was embroidered, but not embroidered to the felt. Glued or sewed... Anyhow, we like it, and she still wears it... And it's still in relatively good shape and I've washed it many times already, and my daughter plays hard :) nothing is gently used around here...

I am very confused by this product. I ordered the same item in a small for my son for Christmas. They were out of the M and L sizing at that time. I ordered the L for my daughter when they came back in stock, and the item received is a completely different material, quality and style. The first item (Small, for my son) is a cotton type sturdy but thin material with a full red satin liner inside. The clasp is a button sewn to the robes, with an attached loop sewn to the opposite side, it's very nice quality. The emblem is an embroidered patch with mild detailing. The large I ordered for my daughter had a nice fleece feel to it (rather thick and too warm for Florida) and a scant accent of a rose-burgundy colored edging or trim around the edges of the robes. The item was not marked "Deluxe" robes on the packaging. The item is not terrible quality, but not at all what I was expecting, which was a large version of the same item I ordered and received for my son.

I am a librarian and wore this a few times for Halloween. It's perfect for occasional Harry Potter dress up times. It was a nice quality product and I really looked like Harry Potter! As far as the clip people talk about, honestly, I preferred it without that. I didn't even use it, but if you want to close it, a safety pin would be fine. It would have hidden my Gryffindor sweater and tie to close it. The only cons are the inside lining does need to be ironed and if you have a pet, be prepared to pull the hair off of it because it all sticks! The hood is kind if big and pointy, but I personally thought that was cute! It's fleece, but I felt like it was a good quality product, especially for the price. The house emblem is sharp. I will use it for years. Fast shipping, as ordered, on time. Packaged well. I'm a 5'2" adult, and it was a good length for me.

Es calientito, el problema de los botones lo supieron arreglar muy bien ya que no vienen cosidos, sino que vienen con un clip de refuerzo metálico y se ajusta perfecto.

Esta muy bien hecha la capa , la tela esta pesadita y hace que luzca mejor, yo la compre talla chica (4-6 años) queda perfecto para niños de 7 años , a mi hija de 5 le queda un poco grande de las mangas , aun asi le ajusta muy bien todo lo demas. buen precio y calidad.

Con forro interior y buenos acabados. La talla perfecta para una niña de 8 años alta. La entrega rápida como siempre
